The flower you thought must be part of the bird of paradise family is called a heliconia. These lovely flowers come in many colors, ranging from bright oranges and pinks to deep reds, and speckeled combinations of these. Lynn & Bill,That is a very professional album on a pure paradise we visited three times; On the first one, during a world private circle tour, we visited large parts of the island but not on the saddle roads forbidden to rental cars; So after a heavy rainy day, we tried the fantastic road to Hana but did not find any place in the few and luxury hotels of this end of world place; We had to go back airport aera so far in time of driving and by night; The waterfalls in each curves were so terrific that we closed the car windows so we were affraid by the power and the noise of each one: It was a memorable souvenir too; The next two trips we were more intrepid with forbidden roads and visited the complete island, so gorgeous!
