The red rose "hips" make a good contrast to the snow in a number of your photos. #7 with the ice on the deodar cedar cones is nice, #15 of the snowmelt on the Douglas-fir branch is good (I have not really figured out whether those are reflections of what is behind or lens images of what is ahead of the drops), #19 with the Douglas-fir cones, #20 and #21 of the giant sequoia cones, #22 of the unfallen maple seeds and #42 of the amaryllis flowers. Hi Mary, I always felt sorry for roses when the first cold of winter hit. But you have such a wonderful touch with flowers, that you turn that event into wonderful images. I particularly like your "christmas flowers" (Amaryllis right?) and your "winter whites". Absolutely superb images! Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you Mary for your very generous words on my Lowry Zoo album. On wildlife (birds and zoo animals included) I use a Nikkor 70-300mm zoom almost exclusively. If the bird is particularly far I might use a Nikkor 500mm, but that is becoming increasingly rare. Of course, my D70 has a 1.5X 35mm SLR factor which makes these lenses are the 35mm equivalent of a 105-450mm and 750mm respectively. These seem to reach far enough.
