Hello bigtallnugly---In response to your question posted in my guestbook, King's Mountain is about 80 miles from where I usually hike.The three mountainous counties of South Carolina (Greenville,Pickens,and Oconee) abound with places to hike. There are the state parks:Table Rock,Caesars Head,Jones Gap,Keowee,Paris Mountain,Oconee and Devils Fork.Then there is the Foothills Trail, Sumter national Forest,the Jocassee Gorges area, numerous heritage preserves, the soon to be completed Palmetto Trail, and the Chattooga Trail. I highly recommend 'the upstate' but I'm prejudiced because I live here. gravy127
