Album Description:
Like most photographers I've met, Joe & I always stay off of the inter-state and take a back road when we have an option. Seems like we have crossed a lot of bridges along the way! Hope you enjoy our album and will leave a message in our guest book.

I just enjoy bridges especially the covered. Pennsysylvania has over 233 and at present I am close to the 200 Mark..You did a great job a capturing these fine structures... It not speed that catches the hummer..It is a feeder and patience... Thanks for the view of my album Humming birds... Len

Congratulations on a fine collection of bridge pictures. I have a warm place in my heart for the old truss bridges that are being replaced right and left all over the place:( Here in Tennessee, nearly all have been replaced or are threatened:( If you're ever in Eleizabethton, TN be sure to see the Doe River Covered bridge, and if you ever get to chattanooga, the Walnut Street Bridge is a must. It's been fully restored and reopened as a pedestrian only bridge. If I may be so bold to suggest, with your love of back roads you may be interested in the American Road Yahoo news group. The topic of discussion centers on the pre-interstate US highways, but any road travel topic is welcome. Give it a checkout at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/AMERICAN_ROAD/ Happy motoring, BabyBoomerBob

Jayne, When I saw the picture of the bridge at Pruitt, I almost cried! I grew up there, (down the road shown on the right side of that photo.) I used to catch the school bus right where you stood. We moved away when the Gov. bought the land in '73. Thanks for the beautiful memories of my childhood..The next time you go venture that way, you should visit Osage, they used to have a really neat wooden bridge there, and on the other side of that bridge, there used to be a very OLD store, called "Stamps General store". not sure if it still stands today though. Love the memories, keep up the execellent work!
