  • Hey Kay and Bill. Great shots and thanks for the tour. I never knew about the hide-away. Charlie was there, played on the W&L tennis team and the glee club, but I don't think he knew about it either. Of course, that was years ago. (We went mostly to the Homestead because it was closer to where we went to school and had great student rates for weekends of skiing.)Thanks for your visit to my "Sky Moods" album and the kind words. Have a super rest of the summer. Louise

  • Kay and Bill, Another look to see the new additions. I think I spotted the new ones. I remember the album so well, and have appreciated this look at history. I believe our summer vacation next year, will be out your way, to see where most of our country's history was made. Super, informative and beautifully photograped album. Hugs and love Sharon

  • Hello Bill and Kay. Do you fancy a game of draughts or chess on that dining room floor? I think the pieces would be a bit big to move around and jump other pieces. All the best, George

  • Hi Kay and Bill! I'm not sure what you updated but this is such a cool album! Very historical and a little bit hysterical! I would love to stay at the Greenbrier and take the tour myself. I would just love to stay at the resort and have all kinds of room service!!!!! We could keep our feet up by the pool and be waited on:-)))))) Lots of hugs for both of you and take care of yourselves! Jane

  • Hi Bill and Kay! I'm sorry but I don't know which photos you added to this lovely album, but I'm glad to see you have been updating! It's a very educational album and I enjoyed viewing it again very much. I would love to visit the Greenbrier Resort as a guest, but a five-star resort is a little over our budget. :-))) Lots of hugs! • Hi Bill and Kay...You don't know how fast I had to drive by the entrance to The Greenbrier Resort the two times we were on the highway leading up to that place. Five Stars (I think it used to be a five star resort) was never in my motel budget :-), but Sharon would have really loved to have visited this place. The photos are really fascinating and I also love some of the comments you have received in your guestbook. Everyone is enjoying this album for sure!!! Have a wonderful weekend. Bob

  • Kay and Bill..Wow, this is fascinating! I love all the photos and the history here. I guess the Senate and House were very important and needed to be protected more than regular citizens. :-) I am being sarcastic. I am sure our Canadian government thinks the same way. But, it is remarkable that they had all of this with an operating room and so on. I know there are secret places now for the president and so on and that is necessary for sure. I am not condemning them..I think they thought it was the best for the country back then. Its good that there are tours now though as it is very interesting. Thank you for sharing and for you kind comments in my stationery album. I appreciate them. big hugs, Barbara...ps...I wondered..is this place generally looked upon as a good place, or something as I suggested, that regular folks didn't need this type of thing and only the Senate etc, or maybe with the things that people built in their backyards for protection, they thought everyone was safe. I remember as a kid having air raid drills in school and then, civil defence drills.

  • Hi Bill and Kay: Great pix of Greenbrier Resort. I remember going there as a kid with my parents on one of our "historical vacations" --- and being a teenager and wanting desperately to eat in the restaurant there, and being told that we couldn't afford it. Now that I'm all grown up, I may just have to go back again and see this fabulous place. You've brought the memories back yet again! Great job!! Always look forward to seeing your new pix. Thanks for sharing "my" West Virginia with the rest of the world, Kat

  • Hy Kay and Bill:Excellent report on an astonishing place - initially reserved of course "to the best"... How did you manage to get permission - or is that now kind of a recreational park...?! In absence of claustrophobia, this might get an excentric hotel! - Thank you very much for your kind words on my "stones&quot ; - I am happy that Webshots is counting also a few gem lovers! - Best wishes (Käthi and) Henri

  • Hi Bill and Kay. This is a great album. I have never heard about this place. It sure looks very cool. The outside makes me think of the White House! I'm curious now, is it only open for tours? or do folks get to stay there too? Looks really nice in the dining areas and landscape, etc. I'm so thankful for the information you included in your photos. It is very appreciated so we can fully understand what we are viewing. Thanks for sharing this neat place with us all. Great photos and well put together. Big Hugs to you both, Dynna
