What a great wonder to find this album! These are photos which we might have taken when we were shooting with 35mm. We haven't been to the redwoods since getting the digital camera and I'm so glad to have some of these beautiful reminders of that great area on my desktop. Linda K

All this beauty and they don't have any places to pull off the road and just sit and look. This road is like this almost all the way. They only have a few little one car pull offs to stop for awhile. Maybe they are trying to protect the forest but they are also taking away your right to enjoy it by listening to the wind in the trees and the quiet. You have to pay in the campgrounds and parks. I saw plenty of places to make parking areas without cutting down the trees. This is so wonderful I would like to think people who go to the trouble of driving all that way would try to leave it as they found it. I know, I'm a dreamer.

Hello alocobolo--I took a trip when I graduated from high school in 1975. It was and still is the only time I have been out of the southern U.S. One of the places we went to was the Avenue of the Giants. Your album brought back memories of that trip. You might want to look at my recently created album carolina mountains. The mountains or trees aren't as tall as those of California but it is an incredibly beautiful and diverse area.My user name is gravy127

Nev, good showing of the redwoods - nice pixs. "Rainforest Stream" I downloaded, cool emerald green look, beautiful. The pix "Old Abandoned Hiway 101" looks like the old highway of way-back. The fauna on the left side of this road is called 'coltsfoot'. I was curious one day while working the woods for years and the name stuck! I find that it grows near water almost each time I've seen the stuff. Thanks for the show here. Nice album. Appreciate. Check out my albums if you have the time and sign my guestbook while you're there. Ron/Oregon Coast

Hi Nev and thanks for the guestbook entry. The Giant Sequoia must be a something to see. I was surprised to see the tunnel through one of the trees. It seems like I read where one had fallen, that for years, people had driven through it. Is there more there that have the tunnel? Thanks for sharing... Darrell
