Hi Em! You have captured so many beautiful tree photos. I enjoyed the album very much. Thanks for visiting my Maroon Bells album--Bob and I did enjoy that hike very much. Colorado is gorgeous when the aspen trees are "pure gold!" Thanks for sharing your albums and have a great week. Sharon

Em! Oh my God, thank you so much for that entry in my guestbook. That is just about the nicest message i've ever gotten from anybody, even my family and friends. The paintings you commented on are also my favorites, it's funny that you chose those ones, because my heart and soul and sweat went into those, maybe more than the others! That comment was my dad kidding around with me telling me to take out the backgrounds which were usually my easel or my fireplace and kiki is what everybody called me when I was younger (my name is Christine). I just took a look at your albums, since i'm taking photography classes right now, I have this great appreciation now for great photography and capturing the essence the soul of a tree! Wow! Continue with your fabulous art and again, thank you! Christine

Thank you so much for your great shots of our friends the trees. I love tall and old trees and you capture them so well. Their nicknames are fun! I also like your other albums, I will have to get back to them and spend more time viewing Australia (where I have been once, but only for 12 days, far too short). Congratulations and regards from Geneva. Barbara

Hi to you,Em! I SEE that you are also a great photographer also-is there anything that you CAN'T do!!!!??? This is so spectacular & amazingly beautiful & sad...all at the same time!! Where I live(Powell River,B.C. Canada) at the ocean they have the world's bigest logging company here(Weyhauser) because of the HUGE amount of forest & if you walk in certain parts sometimes-you can hear the terrible sounds of those vicious & callous chainsaws just roaring away. I sometimes feel like running & shoving one of those things up you-know-where!! Trees,as you know, make our oxygen & give everything around them life-all they can see is MONEY!! No one cares about the next generation or even their own children. You have gifted us with an incredible statement & I THANKYOU for your wonderful passion & wisdom. Please feel free to write to me!? auroraborealis@shaw.ca Love ya,your friend,Rita

Em,,, you have such lovely photo's. I see serenity, peace, quiet the beauty of your world, thennnnnnnn I think how is EM taking these pictures? You remind me of a tasmanian devil that perhaps just got into the tequilla. In essence I am saying you are too much like me to take such beautiful TRANQUIL photos. You are definately as Artist, rest assured, I will agree to Photographer as well, but as for your inner self,, well,,, I shutter to think of the people that runs into that Aussie Mouth :) When it comes to NUTVILLE, you and I are in it together. So when am I invited to take some of these shots for me-self? Hey, mate, the KOOL thing would be for you to invite me, (all expenses paid of course), so that you could show the world how generous and big hearted the Aussies are,,, but me thinkith I know where you would like for me to go :) By the way,, if we both go out to take pictures of your world, what's the chances you will push me off some cliff, or stick big scary spiders on me? In case the world doesn't know it. Aussies love to torture "poor, helpless, defenseless, innocent, quiet, NORMAL american citizens"! Well I said a mouthfull,,, oh yeah emmy,,, thanks for all your comments in my albums, I'm glad to know you are still taking an interest. Melody

Hi Em, Australia is very beautiful, especially Queensland (where most of my relatives live), and Australian animals and trees are very special. I looked at several of your albums, and enjoyed them. It looks like you are an early riser as well, capturing those misty mornings which I love so much. Thanks very much for your kind words in my guestbook, they are very much appreciated! Hi Em! Wonderful shots showing your true love of our beautiful trees which are crying out for help. If only all others understood their plight... It takes so long for them to grow, and mankind destroys them in a flash with no regard to the future. Thanks for your kind messages and I am pleased the Swagman is going to Mick. New albums from my latest tour are under gladysclancy2. Have a great day.. Gladys.

Hi Em, we take nature for granted that they are always there. You shots reminded me that all those beautiful trees will just disappear if we are not careful. They are a beauty and to be admired. Perhaps I should start to record some of our beautiful rain forest also. Thanks for your kind words in my album. I shall return soon. William, Malaysia

Hi Em, Wow! What a reaction! Never got such a long Webshot mail! You sure can chat! ;) I am delighted. Your wicked humor is very refreshing! Thanks for your comments about my cacti. I hope you did not get painted - the album was still wet .....fresh uploaded. Checking the time I think, I was still uploading. You are right, I was thrilled to see this cactus. How outstanding: a cactus with fruits that look like tomatoes! Your 'vision' Mural is great in it's flowing movement, generous and flexible. I think that is what made me stay still for a while. You sure are not afraid to try anything! I see you rolling around giant pods and with mask and gloves fighting the glue paint. Generous, flexible and so full of energy! Wow! After my last note I found this tree album. I love trees, they fascinate me and here in Israel are so many trees that I never saw in Germany, where I grew up. My father was a carpenter. I grew up between wood shavings, trees, sawdust and coffins. My father knew everything about every tree. In his last years he restored antic furniture. He never left Germany. When I found a new tree I always thought, what he would know about that one. -- So this album is a real treasure for me. I loaded 48 of them down. A great collection! Beautiful trees and between them very funny pictures of what nature can do - and when there is someone to see it! Thanks for that! You are amazing! - have an other beautiful day! - Galit from Israel

Hello Em. Congratulations on your tree album. The nicest thing about webshots is finding beautiful souls as friends. Though a senior citizen, I have taken up watercolour painting and simply love trees as a subject. It is amazing to see how powerful the feeling of similar features in nature around us is. Your photos of Australia certainly resonate in my Argentine soul. Thanks for sharing, Maria Elena.

Hi Em! You put up an amazing album, and with a noble cause. You know that I admire trees, and wood as so warm material. In Slovenia is over 60% of the territory forested but there are also some ares and some species undangered so it is necesary to think about conservations issues all the time. Thanks for your to kind words in my guest book. Have a nice weekend, Ludvik

Hi Maria,(ameg100) Thank you soo much for your kind words in this album, and you are totally correct about the nicest thing about Webshots! I have met some wonderful people and their beautiful souls and Spirits shine through in their photos! I am leaving the message here, as you have no albums up yet, and I sincerely want to thank you for your lovely words!! Trees are a wonderful subject for painting and no doubt you shall find many beauties here on Webshots and yes, I have noticed soo many similarities from many different places that i had no idea had trees and flora the same as out here!! I have discovered soo much more beauty in this world through everybody sharing on here, and to me, that is what Webshots is about!! Viewing and learning about the magic of this great big beautiful world and the countries and lands that surround us all!! Hopefully soon, we shall see some of the beauty that surrounds you, and that I would surely love. Takecare, and have a really great day....Em

Dear Em, Thankyou for your lovely entry in my 'Hervines Wood' album guestbook, and your generous comments on my art-work. You have a kind heart which puts confidence and happiness into peoples' hearts. Pleased you liked the bluebells, they are very special to me too, and of all the paintings I am asked to do, bluebells is way out the favourite subject. I loved this album of yours, trees are very close to my heart, and I bleed at every cut which is made in them. The sound of a chain-saw sends shudders of dread up my spine. I actually cried recently when a beautiful old oak near my house was cut nown to make bark-chippings for rich peoples landscaped gardens. I still miss it. Thankyou for highlighting this wanton vandalism. I often wonder if our galloping global warming would be a bit less if we had not lost SO many trees world wide.... Yes I had heard of Aussie girls being called Sheilas. In fact if someone has difficulty in remembering my name, I say 'I may not be Australian, but I am a Sheila', and that helps them to remember. Happy to know I am 'walking in Australian culture'.... Well, I have gone on a bit, If we both keep up with these lovely long 'epistles' we'll have to start E-mailing each other to save guestbook space! :-) Send you lots of love, have a peaceful Christmas, and an exciting and enjoyable new year, God bless,.. Sheila.

Hi Em, thank you so much for your enthusiastic comments in my fairytale album. I really wasn't sure about this album, but your comments took that away, you spoke out of m y heart too. Still it is not finished this album. I changed the text a little bit - I found the point where the story ends - 'living happily ever after' and the additions started but I want to write something 'special' at the turning point of the story. I like very much your version of the sleeping beauty! Wow! That's it!! But where is the prince? Maybe there should be a kiss of the sun....? You wrote about the 'chopped off peoples head's stuck on poles' I saw the trunk cry out in picture 'tree trunk - upside down' as the roots are formed like the heads of howling wolfs. When I went to photograph those trunks there where a lot of people asking me what I am doing and they all where afraid that someone could harm the young tree. They told stories about watching over it. I liked that! So there are a lot of names you can the new tree call after..... Yes, I laughed about Peter like you did! I still have to answer him! I hope to see soon more of your new gallery pictures...?! Have a wonderful day! - Galit

Love your tree photos, always on lookout for more tree photos. Have a couple from Sydney in 2000 & hope to go back to Aus soon particularly for the west coast, in meantime we are off again to US in spring for some more Bristlecone pines! Also have an album entitled "millions of photogenic trees" from Colorado & Utah you might like to view. Keep up the good work. Eric

Dear Em, It is so wonderful to find another soul who has a passion for trees. Your photographs capture each tree's personality and quirkiness. Please stop by and view my winter album for some beautiful trees dressed in snow. I'm just learning my digital camera, but I am looking forward to springtime when I can get the rebirth of our lovely trees. Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to seeing more from you. Hi again Em, thanks for your comments & link to wollemipine.com. A facinating story, if this can be found not a long way from Sydney how much more is there to find in Borneo? This story is similar to the Dawn redwood (metasequoia glyptostroboides) only found in China mid 40's & distributed to world in 1948, now grown all over the world let hope the same happens here. We have oldest DR in UK about 60 miles from here. Have to work hard on wife for a trip to WA, must be soon perhaps next year as could not go all that way without snorkelling ningaloo reef & if there, why not pop across to barrier reef as well I say. Enjoyed a look through some of your other albums, antarctic beech reminded me of our trip to South America & frangipani of time I lived in Africa. Just put an album up of our Norfolk coastline & another of swans. I have lots more tree photos to put on eventually but if you follow the link from webshots to my garden album on MSN then look at the album entitled "living sculpture" you can see quite a few from our trips to various places. Hello again Em, revisiting this album again, see there was an update in Aug but not sure what. To be honest I cannot remember how many photos you had before, anyway I love them all, "who turned out the lights" is great. Came to tell you, thanks to TV I had a close up look at your wollemipine tonoght! BBC" over here are running a 2nd series of "A year at Kew" tonight a botanist was out there in Blue Mtns & at the heavily guarded nursery, so we got a detailed look at the characteristics of this ancient tree. Next week we see the planting of a specimen at Kew that I told you about earlier this year. You might get the prog on Aus TV one day. Later on same channel I was in tree heaven for a Horizen prog on the canopy of Madagascan rain forest, using airship & balloons to get on top of the canopy. Lot of rare wildlife & some of the tree filming was stunning. Sometimes the Horizen progs are shown on discovery channel if you get that out there, worth a look if you do. My 2nd name is now upgraded & albums are flowing! Now into a series of 4 on the theme "5 miles from home" 2 albums posted so far to give a flavour of where I live, think the next one has to be some of our beautifull trees! Best wishes, will try to look at your recent Sydney albums in next few days, so busy now. Eric
