HI Yikes it has been awhile since I have looked at this. You are one of my favorite web sites as I get homesick for Alaska. Thanks for the note and hope all is well up that way!!! Alice Anne Allen

Hi, Alice! I have to tell you, there is more than one "Long Island" in Alaska, I'm told by some former loggers. The one in the photo was in the vacinity of Ward Cove (Revilla Island). I'm a tour guide out of Ketchikan on Revilla Island, and I went on one of my vendor's tours for a "Lighthouse and Eagles" tour. The ship takes the passengers on a cruise around areas of Revilla Island and circles the Guard Island Lighthouse. I am an Alaskan resident who was born on Long Island, New York, so I thought my family would get a kick out of seeing Long Island, Alaska! :) I hope that answers your question, and thanks for viewing my albums! -- Beechphile

I was so surprised to see your picture of Long Island Alaska. We lived there for about 8 years in a logging camp. Really made my day to see that picture. Could you tell me why you were there? Thanks for sharing and it was a great picture. Alice Anne Allen
