  • According to me Orangutans are one of the beautiful animal on our planet. I feel similarity in human and orangutans when I watch their emotions towards their babies. A great motherhood and I feel pity when I see their faces.

  • Hello Jeanie, thanks for some more comments on our albums. On winter cloud cover, no manipulations were done to this photo other than adjusting contrast in PS. We spent 16 months in Jackson wyoming just to photograph teton and yellowstone parks. Early in the morning often you have very low cloud cover below mountains which make great photo ops. I also appreciate the comments on leigh lake reflections. I don't believ i entered this one in any photo of the day contest but may take your advuice. Loved your oragutan pic. Ronnie

  • Hi Jeanie! Thanks for the comments in my Animal Expressions album and I did correct the caption that I had wrong. Thanks for letting me know about that. Bob and I usually take photos of the names of the animals that the zoo has by the animals' yards, but sometimes we take so many photos that I just get a few mixed up; senior moments!! I love your album of the Orangutans. They are so precious. Great photos!! Now to address your question about the dead trees in Yellowstone by the geysers. Our photos were taken in 2003 (I believe that was the summer) and I'm not an expert on dead trees around the geysers, but I do know that after the big fire they had years ago that they didn't remove the burnt trees. They are leaving everything there for nature to take care of. The new growth is doing really well, but there are still lots of places in Yellowstone where it will take many years for the damage to disappear. Probably not in my lifetime. I hope that helps. Have a wonderful Sunday. Sharon from MO

  • Hi and thanks for your email. I am glad you liked the photos in my album. I am not a very good photographer and some of my friend don`t always co operate :) I keep lots of exotics because I am in the pet business, or maybe it is the other way around. I have an Exotic Animals Showroom in Tokyo. I keep grown (my own friends) exotics there to show prospective pet owners how nice or how challenging some exotics can be. I don`t believe in importing lots of baby animals to be lined up in shops for people to gawk at and buy on a whim to be abandoned when they grow out of their cute phase. Having a pet is like adopting a child. All of my exotic friends come out of their enclosures but not at the same time. That would be asking from trouble. I know who gets a long with who. If my Mona Monkey eats my finch it would be my fault because that is common primate behavior. He does`nt care that I raised that little finch or that Angora fancy mouse by hand. In Japan we have very little space so I have to be careful all the time when someone is out. That is why I am usually busy playing with them/keeping an eye on them when they are out and not taking a lot of pictures. As a result a lot of the photos are with them in the cages. I will try to get some shots while they are out running around but it is not easy. You have a very interesting album too. I can tell that you are really into your pets/friends and the natural sciences in general. I will book mark your page as well. Have a nice 2005.
