Hello, just going through your photo album and noticed that you labeled your toucan incorrectly as a toucanet, it's actual name is Red Breasted Toucan (Ramphastos dicolorus) Great pictures! Paul Seattle, Washington :)

You are correct in referring to the bird as a Jay. It is known by the common name of Plush-capped Jay. The generic name is (Cyanocorax chrysops). It occours in South America from Brazil south of the Amazon as far down as Uruguay and northern Argentina, but stops westward at the Andes chain along its entire range.
