Back again to finish viewing this wonderful album. I spent a full summer when I cam e back from the Pacific, visiting one of my Naval aviator friends in Ashland, MT and we ahuted and fished all summer. It was a wonderful time and I am very grateful for the experience. He and most of his family are in the 'Big Sky' now but are always in my memories. There are several of my trail treking friends lioving there in Bozeman and Livingston, so I keep up with the activities there. Thank you for sharing these great photos of scenery used by the John Wayne and Debbie Reynolds movies. THey are some of my favorite people and movies and seeing the scenes again is a wonderful pleasure. There isn''t very many places as beauatiful and historic. Thanks again for sharing them. Ray

It's a real pleasure to view this album! I have lived in California all my life & love our High Sierras. But just a few hours ago, we sold our home & will soon be moving just outside of Denver...in Rocky Mountain territory! I have only just got the hang of this 'guestbook' thing and found your message posted on my site on 3rd May 2004!I know that's just plain dopey! Put it down to the fact that I'm English. So sorry I did not get back to you but I see from your albumn that you have the most fabulous photo's of the area. I will just have to go back and take some more I loved it. I get most of my off road trips out of Tony Huegel's Colorado Byways. By the way I didn't know it was the site of some of the filming for True Grit I shall have to go out and buy the DVD now just to see the scenery. Anyway, sorry again I will have to keep my eye on the guestbook in future.

Fantastic photos, love that scenery it is all flat here! You must have been in that area a few days before us, did not know the film connection with Ridgeway, passed through it twice & only stopped for gas! 6000 mile trip wow, we only did 3500 in 3 weeks but we had flown 5000 to get there. Will take me a long time to work through your albums, want to see them all, we have friends at Bellevue & have visited them twice, played golf at Mt Si GC. Hello Colleen! What a fantastic view of the other end of our Rockies. The Patagonia places you saw are a few hundred miles from the Fitz Roy. The Traful Lake is today Ted Turners private view. Walt Disney came on a fishing trip down here and later made Bambi after some of his photographs of these forests. I find your photos deeply moving for these parts of our countries show us how much we have in common though so far apart. I actually live in the Pampa's area on the River Plate.
