Hi Sharon! Your Colorado albums are a real must see for any WS visitor and any lover of nature and mountain landscapes! Thank you so much for visiting my Dolomites album and for your very nice comments on it! The Dolomites area is indeed a wonderful part of Italy, incredibly not so popular and known overseas! Probably because visitors coming from far away to visit Italy don't find it ... Italian enough! As a matter of fact, most visitors in this area come from continental Europe ... Anyhow, in 3 weeks I will be back there for my winter holidays and I hope to be able to take some interesting winter pics! Ciao and best whishes from Torino. Roberto

Great album, Sharon and Bob. I don't understand why Webshots hasn't made this a featured album; it deserves to be so. I have visited Colorado several times (as shown by my several albums on Webshots) but never in the fall. You have shown what I have missed by not visiting in the fall, and did an excellent job at it. Even though I have visited a good part of Colorado, you've gone to places I haven't visited in this album. It makes me wish for a fall visit to Colorado. Keep up the great work. Steven

Wow! Great album. I simply must add an autumn trip to the San Juan Mountains. No wonder the state is named "Colorado." Thanks! :->

Hello Sharon, I cannot get enough of this album, Colorado is so beautifull in the fall & I count myself very lucky to have seen it. Thankyou for your very kind words on my featured "summer fields of Norfolk" album yesterday. We had just got back from a visit to our Daughters & new grandson, looking after her as husband had to go back to work. They are both doing well & Janet will be up there again this week when both should be able to get out a bit. Eric

Beautiful album, Colorado is my favorite state. You have captured the feel of the state majestically. I enjoyed viewing your perspectives and the way you present the subjects. I have just become a member.
said concrete2ton
Wow, Sharon, you were all over this state! You were at Pike's Peak and Mt. Evans - next time you'll have to get to the other 14'er along the Front Range: Long's Peak (Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park). Only thing is you can't drive to the top (you hike it) but the views are spectacular from the Peak to Peak Hwy and Trail Ridge Road. Lots of elk in the fall too. 'Bout the only other places you didn't hit were Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Mesa Verde. Your photos were spectacular! Susan - Denver, CO

Hi Bob and Sharon, so nice to meet you. A friend sent me browsing through your Colorado Autumn Splendor album and I was thrilled to linger there for at least two hours. I was born and raised in Colorado and miss it terribly. Your photos took me home again, if only in spirit. I now live in Florida and can't tell you what I'd give for just one mountain! Your photos were excellant and you captured all the beauty of Colorado there was to see. It is a breathtaking place. If you ever get back there, you should try to see Gunnison Canyon and Red Rocks Ampa Theater...both magnificent. I can't wait to look through your other albums as they all look awesome. Thank you for the memories of all the places close to my heart. Carol

Thanks for your kind comments on my Autralian albums, it is great to be recieving good feedback already from more seasoned photographers, as I have only had these up for a few weeks... I think that if you ever do have the chance to come here, let me know in advance, I may be able to point you to places off the tourist track,,, I think your pics are also a great look into the USA, I was there last in dec '91 and travelled in winter from Illinois to Washington state, winding up in The Cascades at a little town called Winthrop, at a place called Sun Mountain Lodge, it was really something as I have always lived in the tropics, and to have snow to play in was awesome!!! Thanks again,,, Christopher (crystalhunting)

Hello Sharon and Bob, thank you for your wonderful comments on our "GCanyon" album. I always love to read words like “spectacular” about our pictures. And it’s easy to return the compliment. Your work is beautiful. This whole album certainly captured Colorado at its most gorgeous, and your steam train chugging over a trestle, “P1070394 Georgetown Loop Railroad on Devil's Gate High Bridge” (#11), is stunning. How did you know when to position yourselves to catch that shot? Yes we used to live in St. Lewis, Mo. In my IBM career the joke was that “IBM” stood for “I’ve Been Moved” – we moved 13 times in those 30 years throughout the Southwest. When I retired in 2002 we selected New Mexico. Hello Sharon, What a gorgeous album of fall colors. You are so right about fall beauty of Colorado. I've been to the Maroon Bells before I had a good camera. I'd love to see Ashcroft and take one of the train rides in Colorado. Your photos are really beautiful and the diversity of the country interspersed with the trains and the fall scenery is spectacular. The old mines and cabins with historic stories are very interesting. Hopefully one day I'll be able to view some of the surrounding areas. Your photos have covered a lot of ground there and it looks to have been one spectacular trip. Beautiful album Sharon, Hi to Bob. Sharon/Arizona

Hi again Sharon, I almost forgot about photoop's albums hehe. I've never browsed through your Colorado album. Did you make a return trip and add new photos? It looks like a wonderful vacation. We hope next spring (May or thereabouts) to visit our daughter's family in Tucson, AZ and travel up to Denver Colorado by car and fly back out of Denver. Of course we'll have to take pelnty of photos :O). Yep, I got a new toy to play with. Too bad I want to play with settings, for now I should leave it on auto everything. But it's fun, haha. I just have to learn to be more selective with what I publish in my albums. Some of those dark photos I should remove and some others too. Oh well, I'll get the hang of it one of these days. Anyway, beautiful album. It's making me long for a Rocky Mountain High. You and Bob take care and Lord bless, Ray
said rrayr55
Hi Sharon!!! Did you just add new pictures from your previous trip, or did you go to Colorado again? I spent last week in the Denver area looking at homes. Bill flew out on Thursday & we bought our new home on Friday! Now, we're home(CA)to pack the house & give our 2 week notice at work!! Seems like we're living in a whirlwind! The good news is...we bought twice the house for half the price! Plus, our new house is half the age of the old one, too! We will have a little apartment in the finished basement, so it will be a great place for our kids and/or others when they come to visit. So, all in all, it was a very successful trip! I saw a little of the fall colors, but next year I will get to experience the full Colorado fall!!! Thanks for sharing these gorgeous pictures in the meantime!!! Hope you're having a wonderful day! - Lynn

Not much I can add that hasn't been said already. Great album. My favorites were "Looking Through the Aspens," "Red Mountain" (that stretch south of Ouray is always magnificent), and the colors in the second picture are just spectacular. Your pictures are always great whether in St. Louis or Colorado.

Hi Sharon! Thanks for the note in my hummingbird album! Life's been VERY busy! We've packed most of the house & since last Friday we've had people swarming through the place! Once we sell it, it's off to Colorado to pick out a new house! So...I've enjoyed a few minutes (just a very few, as I'm at work!) to look at this album & dream of the type of fall that I will experience next year!!! Thank you so much for sharing all the incredible beauty - I really needed this today!!! Lynn :-)

To Sharon, the pictures you submitted of Colorado are beautiful! I watched all 77 pictures in the slideshow. You showed some parts of Colorado that the travel books don't really show us. I never knew that there was so much marble and marble rocks situated in that state. And you were able to get a picture of a steam train curving through those mountains. The autumn colors of red, yellow and brown are just fabulous. Did you ever find out what lake that was that they never showed on a sign? Good road pictures from Interstate 70 too. Preston, NC

I cannot begin to describe my appreciation for your photos. I am a Colorado native (Colorado Springs) and have never seen my beautiful state depicted so well. You have really captured the reasons I can't live anywhere else. While I am grateful that your pictures bring visitors to enjoy our state, I am equally glad that you've made it possible for me to enjoy my mountains when I'm stuck at home. I would love to see what you could do for Taylor Park, my favorite part of Colorado.

Hello Sharon and i am so glad you signed my Roses guest book because it has given me the opportunity to spend a while in Colorado with you. What beautiful photos of fantastic scenery! Just as we outcasts over here have always imagined outback America to be like and that train REALLY summed it all up! I have nothing as dramatic as this to show you in my albums because Australia is just not that sort of country but I guess we are unique in our own way. Thanks again and I have earmarked your site in order that I can go through it from start to finish over the next week or two. All best wishes, Peter in Western Australia

Hi Sharon. I hope you liked what I picked. I tried to mix them up a bit but if you want I'll change them for something you choose. At the moment they are at the end of Pt 2. I do switch them around when I get bored. lol. Thanks for being part of this. I think you are in very good company in my album. I love all the people who are in it because they are so friendly. I've only been in webshots since mid January and the number of people I now consider as friends is unbelievable. I noticed that some of your albums date back to 2002 so you must know everyone on webshots I guess. Thanks again Sharon, I appreciate it very much. Bye for now. Hugs Al.

Thanks for a great show. I live in the UK, but I have been privileged to visit the USA several times, including Yellowstone and Glacier NP, twice each. I think the scenery in these two parks is the greatest I have ever seen. I also enjoy Canada, but have to say the scenery is not quite so good. The Cassiar Highway and Telegraph Creek are interesting, and I will be visiting USA and Canada in June. A trip to Glacier is included.

Hi Sharon! Thank you first of all visiting my album and leaving such nice and encouraging words in my guestbook. I've been quite often here visiting your albums and have listed you to my favorites since quite a long time. Sometimes I sit in front of my computer with open mouth (must look quite odd...:-)...!!)just being in awe for your photos!!! Than I do not understand why not ALL your albums have got a feature! Well seriously, for my taste you have just stunning, awesome, perfect profi pics!!! "Shades of Summer" is one of my favorite albums. I mean not single photos, no a whole album! Really, really wonderful. You have such a wonderful talent to take hold of God's fantastic creation in a photo. They are like paintings! Thanks a lot for all the work to bless all of us. Simply great! God bless you and your husband in abundance - Love Trixi :-)

Hi, Sharon - I have already left my comments back in October. As I don't have your email address, I am using your guest book to invite you to view my just released album on the recently opened Cypress Gardens which we visited about three weeks ago. You had been there before and had asked me to let you know if we visited there. The flower portion was a bit skimpy, but they really did not have enough time to prepare. We hope next year the flower part will be better. I took no pictures of their newly added ride section - there was something for every age group - but most of those contraptions look similar - why waste the effort? The album is under francismi, Title "Return to Cypres Gardens". With my warm regards, bruno

I believe from viewing your albums that you're a resident of Missouri (St. Louis Botanical Gardens albums) and you that travel in the west a lot. I've lived in Montrose, Colorado for 16+ years and in 2006 my husband and I will be moving to Missouri (both born there.) I love your albums because they represent all the wonderful places in the U.S. that we love - Missouri, Colorado, Oregon, Wyoming, etc. Thanks for such wonderful photos!

As Henri already said: masterpieces! I tried to choose a favorite, then another, another.... can't mention them all! A place where I would like to stay for a long moment: Maroon Bells of #5. I especially love the ponds with the reflections of #19 and #34; the aspens of #23 with the red tree in midden of the yello and green colors, Maroon Lake's with its reflections etc....The trains are so picturesques, the coke owens very interesting, also the beautiful rock formations in Garden of Gods! And as you know, Mule Deers make part of our special friends! Thanks so much, Sharon and Bob, you did a great job! It's wonderful to hike and travel with you! Love and hugs, Käthi

Dear Sharon: I loved your earlier Colorado album and downloaded every one of your photos, as your travels paralleled so many of mine, but mine were not during that glorious colorful fall season like yours. . And here you are with an even greater album from your most recent Colorado trip that captured the splendor of one of my favorite states! How you must have enjoyed taking in all this breathtaking scenery and recording it for us to vicariously travel with you! I admire your talent in locating some of these out-of-the-way places and then creating the best possible composition of every scene. Naturally, my screen saver collection is going to increase by 77 more wonderful photos. I recently bemoaned the fact that I have not been back to Colorado for many years - but with your photos I gladly take the role of an arm chair traveler. My thanks and best wishes to you and Bob! bruno

I was supposed to go to Colorado this past month to visit my favorite "photo friend" (she & I used to go out on many of our Friday's off work to "play," which for us meant photo excursions!) Since I didn't end up going, I can at least live vicariously through your beautiful album! Every single picture is gorgeous! Sharon (and Bob!): what a splendor, this album - it makes us think and speak but in superlatives: awesome and very varied landscapes -as you wrote mostly far from tourists' roads- excellent photographer(s?), very careful identification of every view (so often one gets tired to read but figure-legends, instead of words!). Each picture is a masterpiece in itself - how choose reasonably the most impressive ones?! Anyway, for me it could be: Waterwheel, Georgetown Loop Railroad, Aspens and Lake on way to Guanella Pass, Maroon Lake, Red Mountain, Bob and the Balanced Rock (Bob, you missed to take Sharon!:) ), Silverston's Carrara Christ. But the list in reality is not exhaustive at all! - Congratulations for this really outstanding presentation!!! - Love from Henri (Käthi will write on her hand, as soon as she will be able).
