Hi Sharon and Bob...What wonderful photos of these beautiful animals! Some of these guys are so comical, like the Penquins. I like the babies and their Mom, and I love the little lion cub. I also love the shots of the Siberian tiger, the zebras, and lions. Great way to shoot these animals!!! hugs and love and Happy Birthday Bob!, Barbara

Hi Sharon and Bob! What a wonderful wildlife report - with a slideshow, you imagine walking from one place to the other (quite big distances, I guess - to the benefit of the animals).Technically perfect pictures, as usual (and special mention for the precise captions!!!) - but much more: they express a true sympathetic feeling for these creatures! Difficult to give special mentions, which anyway are personal; but I liked particularly: Rhinoceros, bathing Tiger, Brown Bear (with such a friendly expression...), Lion cub, Gazelle (!), and so many pretty "duos", as e.g. the Black Swans, the Sea Lions, the White Storks. - Overall: top class - cordial congratulations! - Thank you, Bob, for the nice "Thanks" ;-card, and idem words! Hope you had a really special day!? - With love Kaethi and Henri

What a wonderful album! I have been to the Louisville Zoo numerous times and was sad to see that the baby warthogs have been relocated to another zoo. So many pictures that it is hard to pick a favorite. I did love the laughing elephants, but they were all exquisite. Belated Birthday blessings to Bob!!

You never cease to amaze me, Sharon! From the splendor of Colorado in fall to this wonderful collection of animal photos! A real beautiful album - I know it's not so easy to capture animals in the right pose! I really enjoyed walking through this album and downloading, as I do with all your other albums. I won't use the cliche "sharing&quo t; - seems I am doing a lot of "taking" ; from each and every one of your albums. On the personal side, thanks for your recent guest book entries. All hurricane damage repair including a new roof was completed a few days ago. Charley, Frances and Jeanne are history. Looking forward to more albums, as always. All my best toward the upcoming Holiday Season! Warm regards, bruno

Back one more time, Sharon. Never made it back to Animal Kingdom before my Annual Passport expired. Guess my next attractions visit will be to the newly opened Cypress Gardens following their shutdown and reopening as a new park with more attractions for the younger set that never cared much about the offerings of the former park. By the way, I downloaded your No.50 - and, please, don't take this wrong - some color adjustment brought out the natural browns of the gazelle and the rocks in the background. Hope you don't mind my monkeying around with one of yours - this is the first and probably the last time. All my best, bruno

I am a complete sucker for animal shots, your photos are so fun and love the wonderful close ups you managed to get! Of course, always prefer to see these animals in their own free habitat but since we seem to be killing that off quickly sadly Zoo's are what we have to be thankful for in possibly saving the species! I love wildlife and find it so special to watch let alone be able to capture the photos you have of these wonderful creatures! Great job, wonderful quality just a fun album to flip through! There were so many shots that i fell in love with but I will just mention a few that really made me smile! The pygmy hippo was so adorable, white rhino's are beautiful specimens, the many giraffe ( sky grazers) head shots, and that fabulous lion cub! Crowned crane as well, oh I could go on......! Many thanks for sharing and warm wishes to you and have a lovely day full of smiles, amy :)

Thank you for your superb collection of photos. Many created ideas, and helped in my research and design projects. As mature student and during 2004 I achieved a BA degree in art and design. I achieved this by producing garden ornamentations based on birds and animals. Although now retired I have turned my attention solely to photography painting, I will be well pleased if my results turn out to be, any where as good yours. I will be constantly reviewing your albums as the content of them set a standard for me to achieve. Thank you Paul.

Hey, thank you very much for the comment on my Disney World album. I really enjoyed your Animal Fasination album. The photos are so sharp and vivid, I love the upclose shots. I wish I could have zoomed in more on some of my subjects in the Animal Kingdom, but my camera does'nt have a very good zoom. This was the first album I looked at, I can't wait to look at all the others. Thank you, and have a Happy Easter! Michelle from Virginia

Clarification, your picture entitled "Speke's Gazelle having a snack", are you sure, it looks like a Gerenuk, that's the only species I thought that stood up like that?
said
hilltoppooh_3 2005.05.10 at 22:42:05 PDT
Yes, I checked the site at the St. Louis Zoo, and they have both the Gerenuk and the Speke's, but if you cut and copy this URL, you'll see that it's the Gerenuk that stands and eats like your pic... http://www.stlzoo.org/animals/abouttheanimals/mammals/hoofedmammals/gerenuk.htm

Sharon, Thanks for sharing your photo's of the St. Louis Zoo. They are fantastic. Your photos should be shared throughout the St. Louis Media and also the travel centers across the United States. You really captured the essence of the Zoo. Thanks for sharing. If you want you can check out our albums of the Zoo. They do not compare to your excellent work, but we think it is a nice collection. One question...what camera do you use? Just curious. Many of the shots from Glacier are so familiar! Also many of the scenes from St. Louis' Zoo and Yellowstone all look so nice and inviting. What time of year were the shots taken in Glacier? I'm planning to take another trip there in a few weeks and was just wondering. LaVonna Betz

Beautiful album very well done! The animals are very well captured to show their many faceted sides. The snoozing hippos are something I have never seen before. I have a new commuity album called WebShooters. I find it to be very refreshing when you come across the image of the photographer. Photographers are always on the other side of the lens. Do you have a self protrait of yourself that I may put in this album? If you do and it is ok could you point me to it in your albums. Hi Sharon, Thank you for your entry in "My East Blean" album it was very kind of you, I seem to have a lot of patience that sometimes is rewarded and I find taking pictures is very addictive. You always want to get a better shot so keep trying. I am still fairly new to it though, so have lots to learn still. I'm not surprised you make the most of you season tickets to the botanical gardens I'm sure I would too. I decided I wanted to look at one of your animal albums this time and I am stunned by some of the shots you have managed to get. You must have an amazing long lens and the Zoo's must be set up to make it easy to take some stunning pictures like you have here. The animals too all look very happy which is so important and the main thing. Hope you are not still struggling in 100 degree heat, that is just a bit too hot :-/ Have a good weekend Jill

Beautiful! Beautiful! Simply beautiful, Sharon except for the Warthogs They are simply ugly unless you are another Warthog I guess. Nevertheless, they are extremely interesting creatures. I've always loved animals and zoos. For a college thesis, I designed a new zoo for Cincinnati, Ohio. At the time (1965) I was a senior architectural student at the University of Cincinatti. I appreciate the way you work with the camera to isolate the zoo environment in order to focus on the animals. I try to do the same thing in my own wildlife photographs. Sometimes a part of an animal says more than the whole thing. Thanks for sharing. Bill cable (heyburn3)

Oh no Sharon.. lol My favorite animal at the zoo. I love them so much. I cannot wait to get my hands on these. I just started laughing when the webshots popped up on my screen & I saw that animal I cannot spell. Thanks for this one. I will love it I know. I am an animal nut. My husband John says there is a name for that. I forgot it though. It is where humans think animals are like humans. I love my dogs & all wildlife. OK I'm nuts. Love, Brenda

Hi Sharon. The slide show of this album is great to sit back and watch. i know I've seen some of this album before but I had no idea which photos they were and it didn't matter. As always you and the caddy did a wonderful job. You must be patient because every animal is photographed in positions where they could be seen at their best. Thanks for showing me around your great zoos. Catch you later. Hugs and handshakes Al..

Hi Sharon & Bob! I love the orangutan shots! The baby is so cute and it's funny to see the mom's expression. We've all been there! I would love to know how close you got to the hornets nest. The Golden Breasted Starling is beautiful but I can't believe that Bob would have a starling photo of any kind! The Reticulated Giraffe and the Male Ostrich photo is hilarious:-)))) The Lion Cub is so precious. Another wonderful album with fabulous additions! Love, Jane

Dear Sharon, I am so happy to see this wonderful album again, walk through the zoo with you and Bob, picture by picture, and now especially seeing it featured and getting the exposure it deserves! My heart-felt congratulations on your great photography, catching all these beautiful animals in the act of being themselves, and, above all , the humorous lead photos ! Hi Sharon, Congartulations on your featured album. What great animal parade! I particularly like the cover shot. What a helarious expression! I also very much like the shot of the white rhinos. It's perfect! I especially like the very unusual perspective and that it is of two rhinos perfectly framed and executed, not just one. Greetings from Florida, Paul.
