  • Hi Em and welcome back to the wonderful world of photography! And what a great album for your return! Those mauve bells are something else but I was a bit confused here - Mauve Bell and the next one On The Wall - were both at 2mp resolution while the remainder are at 1mp. I bet you reduced it when you knew you were going to be taking far more pics than you first thought!!! That mushroom is incredible and there's nothing wrong with either the red poinsianna or the red pom pom. I think modern technology has overcome the early problems with reds. Purples were always difficult back in the old days of film, when trying to get a true Jacaranda was never easy. Different now though. Hey - we photographed the kids at the Windsor State School - would have been either '83 or '87, can't remember for sure which. Might have got your tribe!! I loved the leadlight series and thought you were rather crafty on one or two of them when you have taken them at an angle so we wouldn't see your reflection. Very unfair I thought. I did think on the Artwork one I could make out a ghostly figure but maybe my eyes are starting to get rheumy these days!!LOL Those pink frangipanis - aren't they wonderful? And on the Windsor Historic Building when I enlarged it to Normal Size I could clearly read the wording Windsor Town Council Chambers on the roof. Good one. I loved the Quaint Olde House too - we have plenty down in places like Pemberton where they are just called Settlers Cottages. I viewed all these pics at Normal Size, which is the largest we can get them and for the resolution you were using they were just great. Now listen up - you are just too encouraging for words but bless you for your inspiring comments on my pencil Drawing and Kangaroos and Ducks albums. I shall go right out and buy myself another pencil, print out the ducks pic and try to draw it - wouldn't do this for anyone else!! LOL I have missed out on morning tea doing this so will go and scrape up the leavings! Cya Peter in WA

  • Hello Em, OK, this looks like a pom-pom of my high school and college days, but what's the real name for it...I'm into flora and fauna in my past line of work as you know and its always interesting to collect pictures and their real names, if not just the Latin names. This is a nice album, where do you find the time? Ron/Oregon Coast

  • Em-nice catch on the mum/nasty switch...I edited those two pictures as soon as I got your note, one way of telling if folks are actually 'looking' at the photo or examining the name of the picture or both. Now, if I could just find that one website that would tell me exactly which fungi was what. There doesn't seem to be just one website, there are many. Thinking of another camera-which particular one are you thinking of purchasing when you sell your paintings? Anyway, thanks for catch. It is appreciated. Ron

  • Em-well, there you go again catching the first glance at a new album. Incidentally, I've added to my Sunsets and Flowers album, again one more flower in there I couldn't find a name for, but I'm checking as I write. My Fungi album is coming along, but uploaded a few to keep things interesting. Log Ships album is right here in the city, they come and go all the time and will shoot more and add as that progresses. Thank you for your '1st' comments in my Shore Acres Album. I didn't get the "smiled at the 'read' thing" business....explain please. Take another look, if you would and thanks again for looking. Ron

  • Hi Em, even with a small digi-cam you make great pics! Just to say it doesn't take a great camera, it takes the right eye for it and you certainly have it. Witnessed too by your other albums. Thanks for your visit to my little birdies, Hanna.

  • MERRYYYYYYYY CHRISTMASSSSS to the DownUNDERS :),,, Although I know it doesn't feel like Christmas,, I can see the guy's in their Santa Suits around the malls with SHORTS on..... When I was in Canberra at Christmas, it looked strange to see all the decorations, and all the Santa Claus's in the semi-nude, perhaps, it's just the way I want to imagine them. Christmas trees, Malls decorated just as lovely as the states, walk out the door, KaBBBBBBBBBBBBBAMMMMMMMMM , I thought it was hot in Florida at Christmas, but I was in for a pleasant awaking to REAL heat,,, nothing like it,, came to the Mall early in coats and gloves, and within hours, kabongy,,,,30 degrees difference,,, definately Australia is for the strong hearted.... But you have the advantage of the Flower season now that I don't have :(,,,, Enjoy your Holidays, and Try not to get TOO plastered at you New Year's party... :) Melody

  • Happy Holidays!! These are beautiful pictures of flowers and I especially love the Tiffanys. Thanks for your nice compliment. The Guitarman from Central Park has been playing on a hill by the lake for free for 13 years. He's loved by all who know him. Go to his website thatguitarman.com and you can read all about him and his biography. Thanks again. Linda

  • Dear Em, This is a very special album, your hometown, the 'other' Windsor. Thankyou for the look around. You sure have some lovely old houses, and gorgeous flowers, and it's SUMMERTIME! (and here's us shivering in our dark midwinter days.) What a boost to be taken for a walk in the sunshine, and peep through the windows of the lead-glass shop. That 'Tiffany' lampshade (18)is just stunning, love the dragonfly detail. It's all lovely, such a special place to live.... So pleased you like my paintings, I too liked the footprints one, liked the original photo, Who's feet made the prints, where were they going, what's over the hill? Anne's a lovely photographer. She also did the bluebells too! I wish you and yours the happiest Christmas, and a delightful 2005, God bless, SO glad I met you,:-)) keep well, with love, Sheila.

  • Hi Em, it's not the camera, it's the photographer, as this album clearly shows. I could almost imagine walking with you, and enjoying the flowers, trees, buildings and scenery. It's not so much an album as an intimate shared stroll through a interesting, diverse and colourful neighbourhood. You are an artist with a keen eye for nature and beauty. All the best, Keith.

  • hey em, i'm thrilled you loved the photos of chefchouen so much, i was actually a bit disappointed in myself for not having the nerve to capture the people that populated that remote town of the rif mountains, plus i only had one and a half days there. but thankyou so much for all the compliments and i would be honored if you used the photos for your paintings and inspiration. Let me know how it goes, and it'd be great if you posted a pic of any paintings inspired by my photos, i'd love to see them. keep in touch, soon i'll be posting some pictures of chile, a place anyone is bound to leave a piece of their heart in once visited. Ciao, josh.

  • You bewdy Em! Was wondering when you would be back in the fold. Seems ages since I heard (saw) those dulcet tones ringing out! I thought of you when I was doing that fire album - Em'll like this, I thought (honest) Gypsy's comment made me chuckle too - she would have grabbed her puter, camera and CD's and got the hell out of it - after taking a few piccies of course!! Typical eh? Funny you mention the photo opportunities come the regrowth of all that burnt out bush - I had never thought of it until Keith mentioned it and the next day Gladys came up with it as well. I know for sure that those blackboys will be in full flower come the spring - I remember after the last fire some 13 years ago the bush was brilliant a few months later. Sadly though, our beautiful Yanchep National Park has a notice outside saying Closed indefinitely. At least they were able to save the Koala colony that lives there plus the four heritage listed buildings. You have pre empted me with your quote I Love a Sunburnt Country - the thoughts have been swirling round in my head recently that I would like to do an album based on that poem. We'll be way out in the sticks in 4 or 5 weeks time so I might make a start on it then. By the way, did you see my comment in this guest book about how we took the photos at Windsor State School a few years back? Small old world eh? Sincere thanks once again for your kind words but as with most of my pics it's just a case of being in the right place at the right time and taking pot luck. Good to have you back. The best. Peter

  • Hi :) Your camera might not be high end but you capture beautiful images with it! While it's trure you can be more creative with a more sophisticated camera, the important thing is the person behind the camera. Take care. Carmela.
