Dear Charlotte, nice to hear from you again and your kind comments about my NYC album. You have some really terrific shots in this album. I liked particularly your night shots of El Paso, the Brush hut, the burning Bush, the canyon and light trails. You have a great eye and always interesting ideas. Warmest regards. Lowell

Hi Charlotte! Thanks for signing my guestbook for the 'Waterfalls' album. I have enjoyed coming back to your albums and looking through your photos. As a native Texan, I always enjoy seeing my 'home' state, even if it's through someone's photos. Thanks for 'showing me around'. Mike in SC ps I'll let you borrow one of the waterfalls, but you have to carry it. :)

Hi, I see your name all over webshots, so came for a vist. I'm very glad that I did. The adobe barn is wonderful! I live in SE Minnesota, and we see nothing like that around here. I've found some neat barns to photograph, but nothing like this. Your night shots are magnificent. Just a wonderful album of photos of places I have never been. I will be though this winter when we take a trip down that way. Will visit WS friends in Texas and NM. Looks like great country. I'll be back to see more of your photos. Sharon

Beautiful nightshots! Why do'nt you start a new album with night shots only? It baffled me to get an -I thought- WRONG album at first... Greetings and go on with this! Anna

Your photos are exquisite ! West Virginia is a very beautiful place and continues to be rural and remote. It has seemed like home from the minute I moved here, I can't imagine living anywhere else. From your tour of New Mexico it is a wondously beautiful place as well, you have captured it well through your photographs ! Thank you for sharing your home with me and your comments were lovely words were appreciated in my guestbook. Amanda - Charleston, WV

You're right about the caliche being calcium carbonate, which is an alkali. And it is found in layers under the soil, but it also precipitates out from groundwater as 'ground caliche'. Thanks for the kind words on my Colorado Sunset folders.

Hi, I was born and raised in Alamogordo, met my first husband at UTEP, then TWC in El Paso. I've lived in Colorado though for almost as long as I lived in NM. Really enjoy seeing my old stomping grounds. Especially the Cloudcroft trestle, where we scattered my mom's ashes after she died. A note FYI on the picture "Thats not snow-its some kind of mineral from the mine". It's not from the mine, it's caliche (cuh-lee-chay), an alkali deposit from the water. You see it all over the west around water holes and some dry lake beds. Burns your eyes when the wind whips it up and isn't good for the cattle.

HI Great shots. I really enjoyed them. Thanks for your comments on my albums. I lost the disk drive on my computer that went with the LS120 in my camera so I could not retrieve them. I got rid of the camera and got a new one. I went from a Panasonic to a Canon. Thanks again. Lora in northern NY

Gidday, I'm so glad Marianne sent me this invite....I have so enjoyed the tour around ElPaso...you have a wonderful collection of pickies here...the cottonfields remind me of my own experience in a place called Emerald in Queensland just 2 years ago...I was so broke I went 'cotton chipping' for 3 weeks to get enough money to get back to Western Australia for Christmas...it was hot and hard work...but I got the money, got fit and a great tan to boot...LOL...Kindest regards...Gypsy...[also gypsy646...my Aussie travel pickies]....*_*...

I am so thrilled to find this site for my desk top. I was raised on a cotton and alfalfa farm in La Mesa, attended high school in Anthony (Gadsden) and left in the 50s but still go back to visit relatives. You have brought a bit of home to me. Fran Gray Meyers

I see from "Raindrops on Concrete" that you are another person who never met a texture you didn't like. Nice work! Most of my shots are from NE Mass.
