  • I was born In Venice, FL (when they were still letting babies be born in Venice) lol. Snook Haven holds a soft spot for me. These pictures you have are wonderful. I wish you had some pictures of the buildings at Snook Haven. When I was a little girl my Grandfather lived in one of the small cabins. We used to feed his alligator (George) marshmellows. A big NO-NO (Do not feed the alligators) Like we cared back then lol. The bands at Snook Haven are wonderful to go listen too on a Sunday afternoon. Let me set the stage a little. People come from all over to that little paradise by the Myakka River. You have all kinds of bikers mixed with people from The Plantation Golf and Country Club. It's a unique experience out there. If anyone gets to Venice Florida just head East on Venice Ave. Go all the way to the end without making a turn, Do not turn on River Road, go across it onto the dirt road. At the end you will find Snook Haven. Enjoy... Sincerely Andenv
