Hi Ken. Thanks mate for writing in my GB. I'm getting very partial to this camera although I haven't got into using manual controls or settings yet and doubt that I ever will shoot RAW. I don't see the need. It's been good to get out and take photos again after about a three and a half month self imposed break. Betty would wear a thick sweater even in 35C, I tell you! Hi Ken... Sounds as though it is your Firewall that stops you using the Desktop Software. You have to tell it to allow webshots.com and webshots.scr -- if you get a message that you are not connected to the LAN, click on Try Again. Hope that works for you. The Back Up Link is at the bottom of the page -- at first you will have to help it Choose where to put the Backup files (otherwise it will dump them on your desktop), but it soon Remembers where to go, with a backup file for each username. Mine are in MyDocuments>MyWebshots Photos>gladysclancy and MyDocuments>MyWebshots Photos>gladysclancy2 Under your Blog Entry, I have just put MY Review of the New Software -- have fun reading it... I am sure I have Unknowingly been a guinea pig judging by all the problems I have put up with for the past 3-4 months -- they are the same as people are complaining about now.. Hi Ken! Well, the Blog Text Box is fixed (guess you saw my note thanking the two members who solved the problem). Hi Ken! I read your note in the Blog about you rushing off to Decorate your Home Page and I wanted to look at it. Of course the Link would not work (because you did not put the correct text) and I had a mental blockage as to your Username. Eventually found you, and you are the first I have seen that has added your photo (but they are so small that they are virtually useless anyway)! Perhaps I need a BIG Screen!. So many people do not know how to make the HyperLinks work. Go to Your Home Page and Copy & Paste the line in the Address Bar -- this is what you have to put -- http://community.webshots.com/user/hircock100 (No Capital letters). This is the same as what you have to put on your other site to Link it back to this Site. Also, on your Home Page here, the HyperLink to saxonfenken(?)does not work either -- replace the Capital Letters with lower case, and test it out. Wish Webshots would give Instructions for these things, but guess that would be too much. As it is, if they do read the Blog, they do not notify appropriate departments about any common problems, so no action is taken, so we are still chasing our tails.. Sorry if I sound too grumpy, I'm just trying to help.. Hope all is going well for you over there.. Gladys.

Hey, British Dude! Let me tell you I sweated those moon shots for a loooooong time myself! My old PC has blown up that contained all of those shots along with the EXIF info (the settings I used when taking those pictures for you less sophisticated photograpers - uh hum) I need to take it somewhere and retrieve all of them and I will ....... sometime. Anyways, Ken my friend, I do remember that I had my camera set on ISO 200 and the Shutter priority was set at 1/500 or there abouts. (That's why my moons came out orange I think) Mine were hand held so that tripod you were bragging about should do you real fine. Now - GO SHOOT!! What are bug hugs? Jeanie

Hi Ken, Nice to hear from you again we get so used to you being around that when you are not we all say "Wheres Ken got to" ? I look forward to your new additions sound's like you may have some more chocolate box shots :o) I'll be sure to leave plenty for others in the land of the Jocks but its all new to me so I can guarantee my shutter finger will be busy. As for the meadow brown, out came me trusty butterfly book again and its definitely a meadow brown that black spot is much bigger on a Gatekeeper and there are different markings on the wigs too. If you can find yourself a picture of a female meadow brown however maybe thats what you saw as she seems to have markings similar to a gatekeeper. Confusing this identification stuff but great fun. The great thing about digital images too is you can snap away to your hearts content and then identify when you get home without having to remember what you saw and often you would forget what it was really like. Aha - return of the man! Hey these add ons are pretty good mate, especially the fishermen - the colour you got in that photo is incredible, almost a sepia finish. G'day Ken. You're dead right, it WAS a helluva day! But I reckon the odds must favour England now - we'll have to bat today on that same wicket and by the time you Poms take the crease again the demons will have gone out of it and it will be plain sailing. All I did was to promote my Victoria album from about No 41 up to No. 4. For some reason all the albums in between promptly showed as having been upgraded. That has never happened to me before. Hi again mate and thanks for your entry in my Victoria GB. You know those pics were all taken on slide film between 18 and 22 years ago so they aint worn too bad!! They do lose a bit in the scanning because I don't boast one of those ultra expensive dedicated film scanners. I just use a flatbed with attachment for slides and negs. In the circs it doesn't do too bad a job. Funny you mention that photo of yours because I thought why did Ken say that when I had only just commented on it! A classic case or wires getting crossed! Re the rhodos, that garden is up in the Dandenongs east of Melbourne city and we were lucky enough to be there in November when the flowers are at their absolute best. I really should go through some of those and try to increase the saturation because they have definitely faded over the years (don't we all!!) Oh well, Test Match starts today and it's televised here from about 6.30 this evening so micht watch some and record the rest. Cheers for now. Peter

The Caribbean trip was wonderful with stops at all the different islands (I've been to Tortola to begin a bareboat charter w/my husband and 28 others - great fun in '81.) ... Hi ken and Carolynn I have just completed an epic World Wide trip by viewing the great memory jogging photos in this album, many of the places I having visited personally. All my 55 albums with exception of the two London ones are within a thirty-mile radius of Burton- upon-Trent and most within a two-mile radius of our home, we live on the edge of the washlands. Howzat Ken, this is a belated thanks for visiting my album that was featured in May trying to catch up as I have fallen a bit behind of late. Anyway, wanted to pop by your homepage and see your amazing photos. This is a wonderful mixture of all the places you have visited or lived. Fascinating, and a brilliant perspective of the diversity that this world has to offer. I lived in the U.K. for 3 years (95-98)in St. Albans and Markyate. Was able to travel quite extensively however the two areas which we regretably missed were the Devon/Cornwall haven and York. Hi Ken. I like the few photos you have just added. Are the rest this good? Who did you get to take them for you?.LOL. Sorry, I'm just trying to keep your mind off something else. The shot of the cathedral is a beauty. I downloaded Mevagissey inner harbour. Appledorf looks sensational. Did you have to add the blue sky or was it actually there?. The pink flowers at Lizard point make for a beautiful ground cover. The amazing thing about the Red Lion is the fact that it's probably older than Bangladesh. Hello Ken. Great album. I do like albums that show several destinations and this one fits the bill perfectly. Looks like you've been all over the place. I love the photo of the row of cottages. Nice one!! Just to let you know Ken that you can 'post' any photos that you want to. It doesn't matter if someone else has a similar album, your photos will be diffrent any way. You will not upset anyone, so you just use any of your photos that you want to, OK. So, I'll be looking for your clematis covered cottage, lol!! Hi Ken and it was really good to hear from you, courtesy old Al in Canberra. I have really enjoyed this album of yours and you cover a lot of similar ground to another Webshots friend, Osprey137 who lives in your area and who has been on my favourites list for some time. You two certainly do like to travel and have some wonderful shots to show for it all - and I bet you have a heap more tucked away too. Chester is a wonderfully photogenic city and years ago (and I mean YEARS ago) when we lived in Blackpool, Chester was in the territory I covered as a sales rep. Regarding Holbeach, my wife's ancestors were there and also at Kirton and Frampton all through the 1800's and her great grandfather, like you, ran a pub for many yearsin Holbeach. Yes, you do have a photo of the Cog Railroad on Mt. Washington! This is a very nice and interesting collection of photos and am glad I came back to take a look at them. I like the ones of Peterborough, particularly the one of the front of the cathedral. Taking digital photos while traveling has opened a whole new world for me, in a literal sense because we get to see pictures on the web from people in other areas of the world, and because I can afford to experiment with lots of different shots and pick the ones that work the best.
