Album Description:

I was sitting outside one night watching the clouds move across the face of the moon and decided to try and capture what I could see with my trusty camera.

    • Hi Chris, Thanks for your kind words on my Brevard Zoo album, but the truth is that it has taken this old manual & film photographer much too long to learn the quirks of auto digital photography and I am not there yet. You, on the other hand, have done a wonderful job of night photography. I must echo Galit's (854847) comments and tell you that when I want a good night shot I have to resort to a good day shot darkened via Photoshop. Warm greetings from Florida, Paul.

    • Hi Chris, thanks for looking at my last albums and thanks for your encouragement, you are very kind! I admire you for this beautiful album! I admire EVERYONE who manages to take good night shots! I find it VERY difficult to do so. I tried the moon more than ones, but the only picture worth to look at is blurred and the moon does not look like the moon it looks like a glowing egg on a tree! :-( I should upload it for fun! I hope to see soon more good work from you!!! :-) Galit from Israel

    • That is really awsome!! I also have the Canon 300D, and have also taken shots of the moon with the clouds drifting by. Go check them out sometime if you get a chance. Thanks! And good job!! John.

    • Hi Chris..I was just in Rome a moment ago and ended up here in your beautiful "A Moonlit Night" album. The photos worked beautifully and so glad you got the camera out and took them. They look mysterious...as does the moon flowing through the transparent clouds. Beautiful work. Catching up on messages is such an adventure..and so glad that I ventured back your way this morn. Take care and have a really great day....Em

    • Hi Chris, excellent shots. Did you use a tripod?...if not you have extremely steady hand to keep camera straight withour any shaking. Very good observations and well taken shots. Thnak you for your kind comments under "Winter Gone...". Greetings, Rafal

    • Hello Chris, thank you for your kind comments in my Bridge album, not a lot of us are into architecture, but a few are, but I thank you for your frankness. A nice album of the elusive moon, gives an eerie look to the subject, but a likable album just the same. I have to ask you about your camera...I'm looking for a digital and this one keeps popping up by a few within the webshots sites; would you catch my email on my homepage, like to ask you some questions about the camera, lenses and basically get your opinion as a user that I haven't been getting on the camera site itself. Would appreciate your help. Ron/Southern Oregon Coast

    • Hello Chrissy and many thanks for your entry in my Miscellany guest book. Glad you liked it because some of those were really great fun to make. Trouble now though is that I am at the stage where I want to do similar things again only find that I have completely forgotten what I did the first time round! I've been thinking about these moon shots and next full moon (in about two weeks almost) I will get out there with camera on a tripod and play around with different settings. One thing you never use for shots like this is flash so you need a slowish shutter speed and a fairly wide aperture. I'll have a go at it if you will and then we can compare results. Now ehere DID I put that camera manual???? Peter

    • Well done Chris. I especially liked "Moon Behind Clouds 1 and 6". I've tried capturing the moon, but got mixed results. Like your pictures my moons always came out as a white disk, not the yellow/orange orb lined with features that sometimes resembles a face. I suppose it requires greater magnification than my 7x Minolta A1. Ed/Albuquerque

    • Hi Chris, so you're pushing the limits! Well done, you got some nice shots here. Next time, try experimenting with some different settings; I'm sure you can get quite a range of results. Night photography is just about as exciting as macros. Keep on having fun, Keith.

    • Thanks for telling me about this album Chris. You have done very well with these shots. I never seem to have any luck when i try to photograph the moon. Perhaps one day you could tell me what you do to get shots like this? Thanks for your comments in my latest guest book too, by the way. Glad you liked it. best wishes, Peter
