Album Description:

Was gifted a couple of nights at the Gold Coast Casino, and hand raised Tigers were residing. Thoughts of rescuing them subsided, so decided to climb a mountain, one of the Glasshouse mts instead, figured it would be easier.

  • Next time I visit Queensland I shall employ you as my guide! What a great tour of the Glasshouse Mountains this is and how wonderfully well you have described the legends that are attached to them. I have seen them from a distance and also from fairly close up, but never before from this close. Super photos Em and I have but one suggestion to make - PLEASE get yourself a bigger memory card!!! You also did very well with those tigers and overcame the problem of photographing through glass most expertly. Are they as ferocious as those in the wild? I mean,in their company how safe would the person be who reared them? OK, so that is two new albums - any more?? Tara, Peter in WA

  • Hi Em, Another great album! Beautiful tigers, especially the white mum, she's gorgeous. Like you, I don't like to see wild animals in zoos, but must admit, these look content and well cared-for. Your trip to Glasshouse mountain with your friends also looked a very enjoyable experience, recon you had a lot of fun. I was interested to hear the old legends too. Great time for you, and lovely to share your pics, (Next time put an extra photo-card in your camera-case, so you don't have to go deleting stuff!!! :-))). Hope you are keeping well and contented, God bless, with love, Sheila.

  • Hi Em. Great to hear from you. Was wondering where you got to. Looks like you have been having a wonderful time and your fantastic albums show it. Photos in all 3 albums are great. Looks like it was a beautiful walk up the Glass House Moutains and you have also documented them well. I would also rather see the Tigers in the wild but as per the previous comment they do look like they are well cared for and they seem to have a bit of room to move around. Thank you so much for you very kind words in both my "Flowers&quo t; and "Moonlit Night" albums, it is very much appreciated. Hope you are well. Cheers...Chris QLD

  • Hi Em! Lovely to see these views of the Tigers, including the precious White Tiger, at least by being hand-reared, they do not know anything about another world. I have only seen the Glass House Mountains from the distance, so enjoyed your walk and excellent documentary, plus the fantastic views! Hope you have another Memory Card on your shopping list so you are not ill-prepared next time. I am sure you had a wonderful time with your friends and thankyou for sharing.. • Hello Em :-D ... Don't know how I missed this one before. ... Your shots of the tigers are wonderful, they have such a mystique about them and as sad as it is to see them being kept for our amusment, the sad truth is their habitat is growing smaller every day, so like you said they live a lot longer life in captivity. ... I wish I could have join you on your hike, it would have been great (although I'm thinking how the legs must have felt after that climb:P ),but the views would have been worth it! ... You have done a wonderful job in telling the legends and story along the way, which I apreciate would have taken you a lot of time in setting up this album. ... Wonderful collections! ... Just finish, I wanted to say thank you for stopping by views of the bush album, your kind words alway bring a smile to my face and brighten my day ;-D ... All the best Brenda. - NSW.

  • Hi Em, it's me - again. I promised Peter to give you the longest message you ever had, to make you forget that I've neglected you! :-) :-) Nice pictures of those tigers. The glass is invisible in your pictures, but, Em, who cleans the windows from the OTHER side? Sure not the tiger! The vet? Your mountains are most impressive and so is the fairytale. Reading the story I forgot to look at the pictures, but with pleasure I went back and all over again! The views are wonderful. It sure was a lovely day. The clouds over all are like holiday! That's for today, I've work to do! :-) Holiday work! :-) Now you have to read all that crap! ;-) LOL and a big hug - Galit

  • Hi Em, A wonderful combination of constrained as well as unconstrained beauty! I'm glad you decided to go climbing instead of rescuing. Judging by its corpulence, the yellow tiger looks as if it has already disposed of many rescuers. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your very generous comments recently on my Capitol Reef album. During the same trip this past spring we visited America's Gold Coast (Las Vegas) where The Mirage Hotel and Casino had a couple of white tigers in a large gl####ed in area in much the same manner as these. The MGM Grand also had lions in much the same manner, except that the lions had human trainers in the enclosure with them keeping the lions active and entertaining the crowds.

  • I love the tigerpictures! I also want to invite you to see my new album of South Africa. It was not so easy to photograph those wild animals. Thank you! Bye, bye!! Marleen

  • Hi Em, They may be in captivity but they do look very healthy. I'd have wanted to recue them too, they're such beautiful animals. I used to hate the idea of Zoos but here in the UK they do so much conservation work that they actually do quite a lot of good nowadays. I'd still love to live in a world where we didn't need to protect "wild" animals. Let's face it, it's us humans they need protecting from most of the time. Loved the album though and the countryside looks lovely (and very warm) I'd also have been out there enjoying it instead of couped up in a casino. Love the tiger photos especially lookin good. Thanks for sharing . Best wishes, Craig.
