Hello Rod: I was so impressed with your featured album, I just HAD to come back and view another album, and I wasn't disappointed. Your images are splendid and I love your landscapes. Thank you for visiting my Sunflower album. The first 15 were taken in '06, and the rest just a couple of weeks ago. '07 was a bad year for growing sunflowers. Too hot & dry for too long. As I close, you can bet I'll be returning to visit your other albums. Regards from Ron.

Hello Rod! I know this was featured last year. But, to me, it is new and I want to say that I really enjoyed going through this lovely part of Scotland. Long ago, back in 1958, I had backpacked and travelled for a month in Scotland. Your pictures bring back a lot of memories. This is an excellent album with beautiful pictures. Though very belated, let me say how happy I am that this one got featured. Congratulations! I also want to thank you for the extensive comments you left on my featured Peru album. I appreciate your kind words. Cheers! Suresh

I hope you enjoyed returning to your childhood home. It certainly looks like you visited some pretty scenic parts of this beautiful country. It also looks like you had some pretty good weather....for Scotland. I've been living back here for 18 months (after being away for 18yrs) and global warming has played its part up here. The weather's been great. Thanks for sharing these gorgeous images of my homeland. Craig from Scotland

Hi Rod, How you doing? Well I hope. Have been looking at your Scotland photos with even more interest than usual (if thats possible)as I am going there next year for a couple of weeks and can't wait to let myself loose with my camera. We are heading up to the highlands so I expect my camera will be smoking. Thank you for your kind words in my Flowers and Grasses album. Im glad you like them. I do enjoy taking close ups of all the lovely shapes and colours. I may be visiting Kew Gardens in the next couple of weeks so hopefully will manage some nice shots there. This album is full of very beautiful shots Rod. Just perfect! You must be very proud. Will drop by again soon to view some more gorgeous pics and to say hi. Bye for now. Chesca.

Hello Rod. This album is just 'out of this world'. I have been totally in awe of your photos whilst reading your informative captions that accompanies each pic. What a truly beautiful area you grew up in as a boy. The views are simply stunning and ofcourse you have done a first class job in capturing them to perfection. May I offer you very belated congratulations on a superb and well deserved feature. I'm also here to say thank you for stopping by and writing me such a generous comment about my Easter feature. I left that very same morning for North Yorkshire and returned a couple of days ago to a staggering response. Replying to everyone and editing my holiday photos, is going to keep me a very busy lady for a very long time. Take care. Kind regards, Jayne xx

I've always wanted to see Scotland. Thanks for giving me a view of some of it. It's a beautiful country and hold many ancient secrets. I love old stone bridges and grew up across the road from one here in the Midwest (Kansas), but it wasn't nearly as massive and imposing as those in Scotland appear to be. Thanks so much for sharing. I just came across your fabulous pictures of Cornwall. We spent a glorious week in that area a few years ago and the memories of its beauty and charm stay with me! Your pictures recaptured our trip for me. We live in Fairfield, CT along the Long Island Sound, which is lovely too, but Cornwall will always have a special place in my heart. The moment I saw your pictures, I recognized your talent as a photographer. Congratulations and thanks for allowing me to share your personal view of Cornwall.

Hi Rod Enjoyed your great featured album. By the way thank you so much for your kind words, I do like to travel here in Australia, as I am originally from Germany and my job over the years took me to all parts of the world, as you no doubt are aware cities are almost the same everywhere you go. I had also seen every major city in Australia due to my job, but never had the chance to explore this great country both the coast and inland. When I retired in 2000 I made up my mind to do just that and have been at it since then. I guess they will have to prise me out of the truck when I get too old and crotchy (grin). I have a Jack Russell who is my navigator and she thinks she is the boss, like all Jack Russell’s do, and she is a great companion. I bid you a very nice weekend. Kind regards John

So, I wish you a belated congratulations on your feature from August. Thank you also for visiting my featured album of Crater Lake this morning. Your guestbook entry is greatly appreciated. Don't you just love your camera? I have friends that have the digital "big boys" from Nikon, but I just cannot see spending that much money on a camera, yet! Your harbors and the fleet of fishing boats is similar to our fleet here, although you're into lobsters, we're into salmon and crab. "Around Beautiful Devon"-real nice album, great scenics, mountains, lakes and the like. I like your style of photography, a keeper. Thanks for uploading your thoughts on film. I wanted to thank you for your nice comments in my Featured album of "A Bridge Between Two Cities", a pleasure to shoot and the gathering of information about that Park. Dear Rod, I really like these additions I always find it fascinating to see how people used to live with or without their animals but it must have been so cold in those scottish winters you would do anything to get warm Brrrr. Thank you so much for you really kind GB entry in my Jacobite Steam train album It was just so much fun I can tell you I just wish you could share the smell and the chuff, chuff noise too. The Steam specials run from the end of May to mid October (That will be the whole of the midge season then) LOL. They stop on route at Glenfinnan for about 20 minutes enough time to get a coffee and a few pictures and then off to Mallaig again. We had an hour and a half in Mallaig but one thing to remember is that the whole train will be looking for lunch :-/ I'm amazed to be honest that any came out on the train as it really was a case of take the shots or miss them no time to think about how to take the best shot as its gone already and lets say I have lots of shots of blurred trees LOL

I love this album and often have a look at it(need a few tips for my trip hopefully to Scotland next year)It relly is a n ace in the pack. Thanks for the GB my goodness you were quick of the mark, I had hardly finished it. Take care my frien and kind regards as always Ken

I've tried twice to get a message in here without success. I was saying how much I enjoy these restored old places and this one in particular is wonderfully well done and realistic. But your comments about the smell from the cattle not being quite what we would like nust be the understatement of the year!! LOL Thanks for your offer of taking a pic of the Toby Jug sometime - I suppose the coming of the motorway took away all their passing trade and forced the closure. Pity really. Thanks also for your interest in my Beringbooding album - I left out more photos than I put in! Cheers now, Peter

Rod, this album continues to captivate me and fuel my dreams of my first trip to GB. The only problem is, in order to see all I'd want to, I would have to stay a year or two ... or three!!! (grin) The scenery and the solitude in so many of your shots are fantastic. Sending you some Florida sunshine ... Judy

Hi Rod, thanks for the note in my GB about my FL Flowers album - my practice shots with my new camera. I've seen this album of yours before, but I had to come back again for another look. I especially love 'Avielochan 3' and have saved it to my screensaver folder. I am very partial to water and boats (grew up near the shore in Connecticut), so I also love the Buckie fishing boats and the giant lobster ... yummy!!! The Findochty Inner-Harbour is beautiful too as are all those shoreline shots. Our son was in Scotland in '86 for a Scout Jamboree; he did not have a good camera though (pout). Keep 'shooting' ... Dear Rod, Thank you so much for your really kind GB entry I glad it brought back memories of holidays in Oban We were really taken with the place but we were only passing through for one night I feel I want to go back though. I can now look at this album of yours and it means so much more because we found some of the places during our stay. I took so many pictures I'm trying hard to pick the best ones to put onto webshots lets just say there will plenty of albums over the next few weeks. We really did love Scotland, I knew I would and we had a real mixture of weather but when the sun shines its hard to beat. Take care now Jill

Hi Rod, I have noticed that the number of downloads per day for the "Top Downloads" has decreased steadily over the past two weeks and yet the relative rakings of the albums has remained the same. My daily statistics have not shown a single download in the past two weeks. Have you been experiencing similar problems? Webshots does not acknowledge any problem. I moved to Reno, Nevada, in February this year. I concur with what someone else said-Your pictures make me homesick even though I'm not from Scotland! I have been yearning to visit Scotland for several years and hope to make it there sometime in 2007... Your photos reaffirm my desire to see the Scottish Highlands! Hi Rod! A wonderful album, which merited largely its distinction (congratulations!). We know from our experience what it means to go back to places where you spent a lot of time in younger years! Indeed, looking at the pictures ( favored by mostly excellent weather, which is probably not the rule in Scotland?!), these are wonderful places - maybe inviting a comeback at retirement age?! Thank you for presenting us this barely known sites! With best regards from SW France: Kaethi and Henri

Hi again Rod, Like Peter I can't get enough of looking at this album. Its two weeks today that we travel upto Scotland and I thought I would come back and have another look this wondeful album to remind me of some of the places that impressed me the last time I looked. I have been busy looking through guidebooks and maps and have lots of ideas for days out and walks too. One week at Fort William will never be enough to see everything, in that area and we have a few days on Mull before that which I'm really looking foward to, so trips to Staffa and Iona are on the cards too. All we need now is the weather to be kind. As long as it does not rain for the whole time we are there. Take care now Jill

Hi again Rod. I keep coming back in the hopes that you might have added a few more scenes to this album. Its not to be but that's OK because I can go right back to Mo 1 and start all over again. While I'm here I want to thank you for your very kind words in my latest Yanchep National Park album. The light at this time of year is just great for picture taking so we try to make the most of every fine day that we get. Have you got any more trips planned for this year or do you content yourselves with days out now and again? I meant to ask you if you've got any photos of some of those villages beside the Teign such as Stoke in Teignhead and others up stream from Newton Abbot. I used to drive to work (at Kinskerswell) via Shaldon Bridge and then following the river until I came to the main road. In those days the roads were a joy to use and invariably I had it to myself. Now I'm getting all nostalgic again so I'll bid you goodnight! All the best, Peter

Hi Rod, Wow and Wow, What a superb album, some stunning shots here, my goodness living in the West Country and a knowledge of your previous home in Scotland it don't come much better than that for a budding photo man. You even managed to organise the sun and no wind for them beautiful reflection shots, I'm in awe. There is a lot more to The Eden Project than I put in the album, I deliberateley kept the album fairly shot so as not to bore everybody. there is another big biome for The Med type climate and lots of themes outside for various agricultural styles. I'm sure you will enjoy it, but don't go on a rainy day there are hordes there, Good luck and thanks for sharing this super album Ken

Hi Rod, or should I say Mister Magic?. The early morning shots of the Cairngorm Mountains are great. We have take all of our photos in the early morning or late afternoon. I love the photo of Adverikie House on the shores of the lake. How good is that? Your Glen Banchor Panorama is a beauty. I have one camera that has the panorama option but I cant get it right. I have a tendancy to tilt the camera so the panoramas end up with big bumps. Thanks again for sharing mate. I'll be back to check out some albums I haven't looked at yet. Cheers mate Al.

Hi Rod and welcome back. I have been looking forward to this new album of yours and was not disappointed. I viewed the entire album full screen on my new 17" LCD monitor with no time restraints. There is something about your photos that sets them apart from everyone else's and this album just emphasises that. Whether it's the colours or the composition or what I don't know but every photo is just so natural and I am there with you while you are taking them. It's like Al says there is no better photographer than you in all of Webshots and that includes the so called professionals. I started to jot down the ones that REALLY appealed but found I was doing every one, so then I thought I would note the ones that didn't do anything for me but my sheet stayed blank. Good on yer mate and thanks for giving me such a great start to Sunday. Cheers now, Peter

Hi Rod. Welcome back mate. As far as taking photos is concerned do you always waite for the right time of day or is the light always right up in your part of the world? Like always your photos are a pleasure to look at. I kid you not but there are no better photographers than you that I have seen on webshots. Maybe a few as good but not better. In this album I loved your cover shot and number 2. The clear water reflecting the house, trees and probably those fantastic clouds that you always manage to get for your photos. Mate I have a page full of things written here that I like but it will take all day to mention them so I won't. I'll be back mate to look at 35 onwards. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. Cheers Al.
