what you have there is a baby water moccasin... slightly more poisonous affect than the copperhead if you ever happened to get bit because of the bacteria involved in eating fish and frogs and other mainly aquatic animals, but they will take rats and mice as prey if they find them close to the water... copperheads are usually tan and brown, and can have a slight reddish or pinkish tone.... the water moccasins as adults are normally olive green to dark brown and sometimes even black, and usually appear overly "stubby"... where most non-poisonous snakes appear long and lean, the moccasin looks a lot fatter
