It's such a pleasure to see this photo. My Great Aunt Rhoda Louise Shipman Adams wrote in her book of "Remembrences& quot; about Lone Cottonwood Lake.NM, part of the Bottomless Lakes. I wonder if Cottonwood Lake is the same. She was born in 20 Jan 1888 in Junction, Kimble Co Tx and later moved to Pontatoc, Mason Co. Tx where she picks up her story of a covered wagon journey to relocate with her dad, Charles Joseph Shipman, and her brothers, Berry & John, and also her future husband, John Morgan Adams. I hope to publish her writings in a book and would love to have permission to use your photos. PO Box 1449 Brackettville, TX 78832

Beautiful photos! Have spent some time in New Mexico but have never been to the Bottomless Lakes park. Looks like we missed a great opportunity. Have been to Carrizozo & Valley of Fire state park. ALso west of there to Datil Wells. Very nice country but I prefer the mountains. We have visited the area north of Sante Fe & loved it! Keep up the good work. If you get a chance take a look at some of my albums. Flo http://community.webshots.com/user/florock
