  • Lake Michigan... so many memories. I grew up in Holland, further south. But we often vacationed and camped in Ludington and up into the Leelanau. Then my wife, son and I Lived in Traverse City for a couple years too... 77 - 79. Beautiful country!

  • great album.. grew up on Superior.. now live on Lake Winnipeg.. didn't know Lake Michagan was that beautiful. Looks like the maratimes. Love sunsets and yours are great. Thanks. I shall return.

  • To Witch1967 - I hope you get this message. I couldn't reply directly to you since you hadn't posted any photos that I could comment on. But I wanted to say that I was really moved by your comments about growing up on Pierport beach. I agree with that that beach (actually that entire corner of Michigan) is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet. For 50+ years my family and I have been spending at least a couple of weeks at the family summer home on nearby Bear Lake. Just this year my wife and I purchased the property from my mother and we plan to build a year-round retirement home there soon. Although I lived in Mt. Pleasant, MI, for a few years, I have never seen the lake area in the winter. In a few years I hope to see that lemon pie look you described for the winter beach scene. I really appreciate all of your very generous comments in my album guestbooks and I also really enjoy your own photography. This album is one that I had somehow missed as I have browsed through your collections. All I can say is WOW! These shots are beautiful. I really like the ones with silhouettes on the beach with a driftwood fire.
