This is an OKAPI, lives in the Congo. the only relative of the giraffe. discovered in early 1900's. I have pictures and description of it from the Cinncinaatti zoo.

These are great pictures! just a few notes-- the 'black duiker' is an okapi, as mgwetall said; the 'waterbuck' and 'Nile lechwe' are the same animals, and I'm not sure myself what they are, though I think maybe neither of those; and the 'waterfowl' on page 3 are a pair of mandarin ducks from Asia. Thanks for sharing them all!

Several very nice albums -- I'm impressed by how much you are able to travel and get the great shots. I love the nature photography also -- anything from dragonflies up to the zoo animals. So far, I haven't traveled outside the USA to get animals shots -- but there's always next year. I'll be back to see more as you add pictures.

Beautiful album really enjoyed your big cats. I think you should come and pay us a visit in SA, please go and have a look at my album "Pillansberg 2008" you would have a feast with all the photo opportunities. I also see you enjoy to travel so that makes a perfect combination
