When mornings like this are upon us it is best to grab the camera and go for a nice walk, being careful not to fall and damage the camera.

Hi Darlene, thanks for your kind comments on my Christmas album. I hope that you and yours had wonderful holidays too. These are really beautiful shots and well done. Don't apologize for it being dark. If it had been bright and sunny when you took these, the sharp contrast would have made the tree ice more difficult to see. As it is you had perfect conditions for these photos, and you really took good advantage of it. Mike

Hi Darlene. As I said once before, snow and ice are complete foreign to us, which makes it so fascinating to view albums such as yours, especially when they are so well photographed. Excellent work. Very many thanks for your generous comments in my featured Fabulous Beaches guest book just now and the reason I am replying so quickly is that I am about to close down for the night and wanted to be up to date! I appreciate your interest and once again wish you all a wonderful 2006. Best wishes, Peter

Hello Darlene. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. These are great photos, I'm glad it was you and not me that had to brave the cold to get these pictures. Thanks for sharing. Have a happy New Year. Don

Good Morning Darlene. I though we were cold here in Oregon, but this looks like minus degree weather. We have been sitting around 5 - 8 degrees in the morning then warming up to about 32 - 36! Excellent album by the way. I want to thank you for visiting my featured album of Crater Lake today. Your wonderful guestbook entry is greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Lynn, Bonanza/Oregon, USA

Hi Darlene, firstly warmest thanks for taking the time to sign my guest book! This album is outstanding! We very rarely get any snow here. When we do it does not last long. We had a little a few weeks ago, and it has all melted away now. The photos you took are really amazing! Seasons greetings and best wishes, Mary

Hi Darlene! How wonderful that you visited Niagara Falls and also enjoyed a beautiful "Wonderland of Ice!" I really enjoyed the slideshow of this album. Thanks for the sweet comments on my featured album. I was in the process of taking NEW Christmas photos, but had been swamped and hadn't uploaded it yet, so now I will probably just save the photos for next year. The album that was featured was made in 2001 and the photos from the Jewel Box are antiques now! :-)) They remodeled that building in St. Louis and use it mainly for weddings now. Merry Christmas if I don't get back to view your albums sooner; I hope I return before then though. I always love your photography. Hugs and love, Sharon

Dar, Great album. As you can see I've been neglectful in checking your great work. Pouting cuz my "clicking" arm is in a sling. Jealous you're gatting all these great shots. But good for you. I'm always impressed with your shot selection. Keep up the good work, one more album to check. Garry

Hi Darlene...These photos are just awesome! I adore them and I have downloaded so many of them. The ice is beautiful on the trees and grass, but it would be slippery for sure. Can you imagine if someone put lights in the trees? I think that would be wonderful, impractical, but magical! I am so sorry that Rob has to go to Roswell Park. I will look at your web site too. I hope whatever it is, is improving! My best to both of you. hugs from Canada, Barbara..ps...I have an album of Christmas E-cards and gift tags if you are interested, but I did not come here to mention that initially...just something told me to come and look at a WInter album and i am so glad I did.

Hi Darlene and what an incredible album this is! Coming from a place where even frost is unknown I find it so hard to imagine just how cold it can get in other parts of the world. Amazing photos and we have digital to thank for them because I doubt you would have taken all these if you had had to use a film camera! I shall be displaying this album around my local friends to let them see how the other half lives! LOL Just started on this when your entry in my Indian Ocean Drive GB came through. Many thanks for that and you were VERY quick off the mark because I had only posted it about 5 minutes before! As a contrast to all that ice I have to tell you that today is 31C (about 87F) and tomorrow is forecast to hit 35C (95F) Too hot and glary to be out taking photos. Love and hugs, Peter

for awhile there i thought you'd added another black and white album until i noticed the color on the leaves. personally i think the light was perfect. too much more light and you might've ended up with a nasty glare. your timing was right on for this winter wonderland album. i'm sorry you're there for the reason that you have to be but in the end when everything turns out well (and it will) you can look back at these photos for remembrance of your strength. best of luck and a million prayers for rob and his speedy recovery. your friend. george-

Hi Dar. If I understood correctly, it is ice and not snow on the ground and trees! WOW!! I'm impressed and glad that you were there and not me, although it would be something to see. All of the Nth American scenery is special to me but in the Winter I think I'd turn into a ice block. LOL. I enjoyed your nice cold photos and thanks for sharing them. Stay warm mate. Hugs Al..
