Hi Yair! This is your best album yet! Truly stunning!! Each image has a beauty of its own and wouldn't be fair to pick favourites, but I do favour #1 and for originality I favour #10. I am old enough to remember that Song by The Platters and it is very fitting for your image. Well done! Thankyou for telling me about my 99 photos that have gone missing, started to check a few albums this afternoon, but will take me a while to get through them all. Hope you haven't got any missing, and that you were able to upload this album without any problems. Dear Friend! Since Webshots started re-structuring their computer systems and servers, I think quite a lot of friends can't have access to many pages, including me, and the connecting speed to their system is truly DEAD DEAD DEAD SLOW! Hi Yair! Thankyou for your message this morning and I quite agree, Webshots pages are very difficult to access and the "Refresh" button has to be continually clicked, even 2 or 3 times per page to make it appear. Good news is that the 99 photos have returned to my "Marine Life" album. All my gladysclancy albums appear to be intact at present. Nice to have the Stats for my newest album, but I do wonder about the accuracy when it shows 30 Views and 88 Downloads for that album in 5 days. So pleased to hear you are going to New Zealand and I know you will come back with many wonderful photos. Dare I hope that Webshots will be "Fixed" when you return? Hi Yair, This is a marvelous collection of sunsets. I never thought about it before, but I guess the beaches near Tel-Aviv must face pretty much west, so you must get some terrific sunsets over the Mediterranean. These images are gorgeous and my favorite is your #10 with the buildings lit by the western sun and reflected by the still water on the beach. As always, great job! Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. I took these pictures back in the late seventies on mostly bright sunny days to get the best effects. When shooting black and white Infra-Red I used a 25a..deep red filter over the lens to block out all the visible light behind the ..Red Wavelength.. the red filter filtered out ultra-violet,blue,green,y ellow,orange, but not the next visible spectrum of light which is red, then followed by Infra-Red. If you split white light through a prism or look at the color scheme of a rainbow you will notice the colors are in the order I just described due to shorter wave-length of light being at the blue end of the spectrum and increasing in length toward the end of the visible spectrum where you find the red. Beyond the red your eye stops seeing color however there is light radiation beyond this visible red, It is called Infra-Red meaning below the red. By using the red filter over the lens you are blocking out all of the other wavelengths of visible light, radiations that the Infra-Red film is sensitive to. Thus the film is exposed by the deep reds and the Infra-Red radiation only. (Which is invisible to the human eye but not the film. And because you can not see Infra-Red radiation you must take several shots of the same scene at different exposures. Also Infra-Red may have a stronger presence from one scene to another due to the sun being out or behind a cloud..also the amount of green trees and grass which highly reflect Infra-red radiation also affect the exposure. I tried to always expose in bright sunlight. This accounts for why grass and healthy leaves are recorded dark on the negative but appear snow covered on the print. All exposures were at f-11 apature and shutter speeds were 250 / 500 / and 1000. And oddly enought it seemed the 1000 shutter speed at f-11 turned out to be the best for printing. The film also has no speed setting or ASA because cameras are only equipped with light meters that adjust exposure for visible light..these meters can not see Infra-Red so their useless. It still is a very fast film to be exposed at such a high shutter speed and such a small apature and with the lens covered with a red filter. Anyway, I like looking at these scenes (prints) because the human eye can not see what the Infra-Red film can see. You've captured something no one else has ever seen. Dear Yair...First off let me say how great I think you pictures are...especially the ones of the sunset by the sea... Is the body of water by chance the Sea of Galilee? You've really captured the emotion of the scene. There's a lot of feeling in those photos. The exposure and shadow detail are balanced really well. Hi Yair, Love this album..sunrise/sunsets are one of my favorite subjects as each photo seems to have an individuality of their own and a touch of the Master's hand.
