Hello Ted. Great shots. I should imagine you need a lot of patience to get photos of this quality. Patience and maybe some cooperation from your subjects at the same time. I loved the note you so kindly left me in my Valentine feature guestbook. You're quite the poet aren't you. It really made my day. Hope you had a special time too. Take care. Best wishes, Jayne xx

However did you get these great photos? You must have the patience of a saint! Every photo is outstanding - and your captions are a riot! As usual, I very much enjoyed my visit to your site. Very best regards, DeeAnne :)

Dear Ted how are you? I love your photos of the Herons ...gorgeous aren't they? Ted we had a pair nest in one of the giant old trees here -they make the most hilarious sound!I've got a couple of photos of them in my album 'Rosehaven ...a little on the wild side' -they didn't enjoy being photographed so I just left them alone in the end.Ted ,thankyou so much for enjoying my feature album and for leaving such a lovely message -we are very blessed here as we can see the sunrise from the front of our home and the sunset from the back.A joy shared is a joy doubled ,thankyou so much for sharing the joy with me...warmest wishes from New Zealand -Lynne

Hello Ted, What a coincidence, I find this album with very beautiful herons, a friend of mine loves herons so very much, I think she will be very happy when I tell her about your heron photos, and the description makes it complete. Thank you also for your nice comment in my featured album Smell the Spring, I appreciated! It was such a surprise for me being featured, it was a very happy day to be in the Webshots spotlight. I’m glad you liked the spring in Holland, warm regards and take care, Joke

Hello Ted, I thought about you today(your photos, that is)The houstonian had an article on the height of the birdwatching season here on Hi-Island. Must be the same in your parts over there and you're probably out and about with your camera today. I am kinda stranded here with a backinjury due to a horseaccident and had really thought this spring I'd be out trying to get some of these amazing bird shots you've been getting. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen, so I keep peeping at yours, they are just so awesome! You have so much talent and patience, I really admire you for that!! Have a wonderful sunday, your neighbor from Houston, Marita

G'day Ted - wow your Lake Martin Rookery shots are awesome. I salute your patience in getting these shots, and love your sense of humour in the captions too. Thanks so much for sharing. Sincere thanks too for your message on my recently featured Aussie Sunrises/sets album - it was an incredible experience and your message added to that. I hope to catch up on some more of your work soon, Lorraine - Australia

Hi Ted! I love your photos of the birds. I especially enjoyed many of the Cattle Egrets. I hope all is well down south and you are enjoying Spring. Here in Missouri on the first day of Spring, we're expecting snow tonight. Have a happy week. Sharon

Hi Ted, I just love your images of the Cattle Egrets. They look like they have their full mating coloration and posed especially for you. Ours here have just begun to get their colors now, but I haven't really had any success with them. You must be all excited about your coming acquisitions, but I’m not sure I understand: You are now shooting a Nikon FM and you’re going to a Canon 5D or 30D? I made the move from a Nikon FM to a Nikon D70 and that has been quite a ride for me. Both my FM and my older Nikkormat now only gathers dust. If I had it all to do again I would probably switch to the Canon 30D and leave all my manual Nikon lenses behind. Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your kind words on my Owls album. These pictures were taken over a three year period involving the Nikon FM with a 70-210mm zoom, the Nikon D70 with an Nikkor 17-70mm zoom and the latest pictures taken using the D70 with a Nikkor 70-300mm zoom – the lens I use almost exclusively now. It’s a little slow, but it has great optics, relatively light weight and you can’t beat the price.

Bonjour Ted,you definitely live in (or around) some bird watching "dream spots".I have to admit i envy you my Friend,to have such a great variety of beautiful birds in the wild and to be able to take these amazing shots!!Thanks for sharing and for your kind words,i'm keeping quite a low profile this season, not having any snow doesn't make very good winter albums...So i'm putting a few new shots and substracting a few in my old albums, would you believe all of my old albums were scanned from film until june 2004,so some clean up had to be done.Ican't wait till spring to shoot some new stuff.Looking forward to our additions, have a great week!Luc

Hello Ted, Prehaps it is a good job that you do not have the high tides we have here in the UK, I do not wish to be flippant about your recent problems in New Orleans. In some place on the West Coast they have tides of up to 20 feet. Ours on the East coast anre somewhat less than that. Thanks for your very kind words, they are very much appreciated. I love you Herons, if ever a bird was patient it must be those, I do not think I could wait so long for a meal lol Thanks for sharing them with us and please do take care Ken

Hi Ted, Thank you so much for your lovely messages in my guestbooks. I even didn't manage to finish my upload!!! It seem I get back to routine by now. It was a very busy time. I knew you would like those dancing Mom and son pictures. You are already dreaming about the future! Believe me, Ted, it is much much better than you can possibly dream! About the postboxes: If you have some mailboxes you should send them to Jayne. She is inviting everyone of the community to help her gathering mail- and postboxes from all over the world. I little rust can be attractive too! Very photogenic! Nothing is dull in photography if you catch the right angle! I am very happy to find new bird in your site. Pic 5, the Commune of Egrets and Herons, is amazing. What a wonderful place for those birds. Beside your extraordinary pictures I love your captions. You always make me laugh! - But I did not catch what it is about 'Chocolate City!' How are the wedding preparations going on? Take care - Galit

Hi Ted! This beautiful album of birds shows you are a very patient photographer to capture great shots like that. Love your captions too. Well done! Thankyou for your kind words in my Australia Day g/b and for your support in the Blog. Seems as though I wasted my time with the 9 points because they have now been Archived, so doubt if anyone will see them. Best wishes.. Gladys, Western Australia.

Ted these photos are fabulous! What a wonderful album this is. Sure hope to see it featured, it's a winner in my book for sure. #7 is my favorite, what a pose and the lighting is amazing. How far away are you from these amazing birds that they don't fly off? I'm thinking Lake Martin is close to where you live. What an amazing place this must be with all these great birds living together. Hugs, Laura
