Wow, Sj, this album is wonderful. Looks like you had a really good afternoon shoot. I don't know where to begin - there are so many good ones. The 'Obstreperous Goose' entertained me thru several images, and 'Here's Looking at You!' is Minden quality! Great shot. I like the lighting in 'Graceful Goose'. Did you use flash? The water detail on the goose is good too. I also really enjoyed your late afternoon work with the tree trunks. Good stuff! 'Illumination' is so warm and golden. 'Dying Light' is too and in 'Forest Primeval' you're "losing the light" in a very beautiful way! Everything is absolutely right-on in 'Late Afternoon Jungle' - wow! You have excellent detail and saturation, and you nailed the exposure!! My god, I think I could go on and on! Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing this one.(:

I enjoyed this. If I'd been along, I'd have picked up one of the smaller pieces of white rock. ;-) Quite a few of the tree shots are lovely. And the tree in the water, when examined, does have some interesting possibilities. Thanks for sharing. Joyce :-)

Hi Sj, thanks for your kind comments in my webshots guestbook. I thought to call over and share your images this morning. I see you have a very Creative eye for detail and lighting, and there are some very nicely thought out images in both park albums. The Canada goose is an excellent action capture, hissing tongue included and I see you made good use of those beautiful relections on the day. I also enjoyed the floating leaf in the stream and several of the woodland tree images. Tells a good story too, like the Old Mill on the bank. Adds a little more interest to the shared images. ------------------------- ----- My work is nearly all digital these days I a Canon D10 and favour the Canon eos range for the lens speeds in wildlife situations. Post processing is very important as digital cameras create soft images and can lose saturation easily in difficult lighting. If you use the unsharp mask once in adobe photoshop viewing the image at full size and then one sharpen images you wont be far out. Hue and sat setting up 5-15% if required too. I do try to just do the basics so as not to lose the natural tones of the original. Hope this helps, kind regards and good shooting. Chris

Hi SJ! What a wonderful album - I particularly love you photos of the geese with their reflections and the tree trunks in the evening sun - gorgeous! Shows you really don't have to go far to capture the beauty of nature and take great photography! Thank you very much for your comments in my featured album - I really appreciate it! I see "Featured Album" lurking in your future. I found each photo to have a unique quality all it's own. If I had to pick any favourites, I'd have to choose the geese. Btw, how did you ever manage to catch that flying saucer sailing over the lake in "Sunset?" {^; Your captions are good and added even more interest to your images. Kudos to you for this excellent work. Char*

This is a lovely album. I agree with char, it has a "Feature Album" quality to it! I partcularly love "Hanging Around" LOL! Thanks for your comments on my snow album, it all melted away, but today we have another heavy fall! This is an exceptional year for Chester. I enjoyed your album very much. Debbie, UK.

What a great album your Burke Lake Park is - congratulations on the time it took to get this collection together. I enjoyed all the shots with the straight up trees and about face geese as favourites. Great captions too that add to the effect. Sincere thanks as well for your comments on my featured album Aussie Sunrises/sets - I really appreciated your contribution. Have a great weekend, Lorraine - Australia

sj-the photos of burke lake are very soothing. and I will definitely take u up on your thought about placing the watercolors and photos side by side so you can see what i saw! I am going to use your "Greenwood" photo for a w/c also. I am going to add some creative license in the form of color. MaryFrances

Hello SJ! I certainly agree with you! This is my favorite kind of forestland I love to walk around, which I can only fully enjoy in my overseas vacation trips (I live in a concrete jungle which I hate)! I love looking at trees, I love communicating with trees! My admiration to you for your easy access to this natural wonderland with these natural beauties! My admiration to all these tall and straight lines, with some tangled wires ... HeeHee! Nature's great great great arts! Congratulations to you for this wonderful enjoyment of the beautiful nature! Thank you so much for your kind and nice compliments to my abstractive arts by Mother Nature! Best wishes and warm greetings from CS :D
