Interesting. Here's a shot I took of a screech owl at the same location in March 2008. http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2160136360103206353bHNCwj

Joe, Hi, http://public.fotki.com/quietlatitudes/ will be a newer address for me. WS new look should've worked as soon as their new lights went on, but not all the fuses were working and this has taken its toll on many. Please stop in anytime. Ron

Hi Joe thankyou for sharing your wonderful pictures of your trip. I love birds they are absolutely sweet. I have a few birds that frequent my yard that I haven't seen until last Spring this is the second year the came to my place. One is light tan with an Orange face, chest and small orange stripe down the middle of its tail it likes to rest on my deck railing and sing. And the other is a completly Bright yellow bird their absolutely the sweetest little things. I have a close-up of the little Orange guy but the yellow prefers its distance.

You are a superb bird photographer. I must echo the previous entry in thinking you must have some very high quality, very long lenses. You have many birds we never see this far north. I was really struck by the green jay of which I had never even seen a picture. Your work is most admirable. Di/Montana

Dear Joe, I can't tell you how interesting I found your album as I have just started to take digiscoped images so I fully appreciate the problems involved in getting these images. I couldn't believe you managed to get such sharp images hand held on the boat trip. This album is full of absolutely brilliant images and I clearly have so much to learn still. You live in an area with so many interesting birds too you have many interesting subjects. Thank you so much for this album I have made you a favourite so I see what else you get upto. Take care now and I do hope you enjoy all the attention you are getting today. Jill (UK)

Hi Joe, I thoroughly enjoyed your bird album of Texas birds. I was born and raised in Texas but haven't been there for several yers. I've recently been in touch with a friend from my Texas days who has told me how much he likes bird watching there. I will be sure to send him the link to view this album as I know he will be very interested to take a look at it. Have a wonderful day and thanks for this wonderful photo. Spectacular shots... I have recently taken up photographing birds here in North Carolina and looks like digiscoping is something I need to study! I note quite a bit of difference in our cardinals and mockingbirds and the Texas varieties in your pictures. Your captioning is wonderful as well. Congrats on a well deserved honor Judy in North Carolina

Joe, You captured many on your trip. Descriptions are quite well put-together and read well. I'm supposing that you already knew what you were shooting, although it would still be tough to know each bird as well as you do. Appreciate the trip, was fun catching the many different kinds Texas holds. A well-deserved Featured album for you. We will see more of your work? An Oregon Coast Greetings. Ron

Simply great bird photos, and the identifications and commentary on each is wonderful! I have just started to get into more and more bird photography, although there are not perhaps so many species here in southeast Alaska, mainly ducks, geese, eagles, ravens and swans. Just yesterday I came across some trumpeter swans who let me approach and stayed around while I took photos...it was exciting! Thanks to folks like you I can hopefully identify new birds and I really appreciate that! Thanks for sharing these delightful photos and for all your help! Les in Alaska
