Hi Lorraine, This is such a beautiful album and so varied. These great images present a totally different view of Australia than that which we get from our media. From those images, Australia is all “Outback” -big, flat and dry. I’m very glad that you and your fellow Aussies do such a wonderful job of showing us the “other” Australia. Thanks! Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thank you for your many kind words on my Brevard Zoo album. During my first visit there I was still new to digital photography in general and to my D70 in particular. I had no such excuses during my latest visit.

Hi again Lorraine. Whenever I am in a nostalgic mood I often come back to this album for the memories it brings back! Apart from staying at Airlie Beach we also had a couple of days in the caravan park at Bowen, so I have photos very similar to yours of Horseshoe Bay etc. Our lasting memory of Bowen, though, is of the frogs and toads of every conceivable size lining the path to the toilet block every evening! And of the 4' long lizard that was lounging just inside the toilet! Happy days! I knew you would know a lot of the places in that Southern Ocean album and I would dearly love to go back over all that old ground again, only this time with a digital camera. That lot I put in consisted of scanned slides, scanned prints, one scanned negative and one taken with a disposable camera. Plus a few with a digital. Anyway, thanks a heap for all your beautiful comments on the message boards - I loved 'em! Hugs, Peter

Hi Lorraine! You seem to have travelled far and wide to get these lovely photos which are certainly a great collection of the good Aussie Scenery. Amongst my favourites are Whitsunday Dreaming, Berry Springs and Afternoon Reflections. Well done! Thankyou for your lovely message in my Painted Sky album. Yes, the Grasstrees were a 2 minute walk from home and a useful foreground for sunsets. I was so sad when they were removed in readiness for the forthcoming Railway and road re-alignments which are still under construction. The Buildings with the cloud reflections on the windows are in the Perth CBD, I happened to be in the right place at the right time. Best wishes... Gladys, Western Australia.

G'Day Lorraine! I hope you had had a good Easter. Thank you for visiting my Mallorca album and for making the trip with me. Ok, you tell us to follow the tide and so I do! What beautiful water in photo 1 and those islands so green... In #3 is so inviting for a bath... the vegetation is so beautiful! It took a big effort to leave this place... But then, the ravishing islands, the palm trees and the blue water in photo #4 made the effort worthy. Oh, I wish I could dive in these waters, it must be wonderful sea life there. Sharks too, probably... That Bowen view is quite beautiful, too. I love the palms and the horizon line in #6. Wonderful the sea in #7 and the beautiful islands with a lighthouse! I find photo number 10 most beautiful! What an example of struggle for survival! Ohhh, the water in Cairns! No sharks? #14 is really breathtaking! and Afternoon Reflections is gorgeous. I enjoyed Crocodile Rocks. It's not only the skin, some shapes seems like crocodiles too. And the colors of the stone in Stony Stream are great! What a big collection in 34! Nature's Hand is quite pretty. I love photo 37, even with that yellow and black band... I would gladly enter for a bath in those thermal hot springs in 38. River of sand in 39 is very nice. I hate frames, but I like that! Oh... and I have a bay! Ok, you have my permission to swim there... really beautiful those sand effects in photo 42. How I envy these guys in 43, 44 and 45! I want to be there, too! Photo 46 is wonderful! And that deserted beach in 48 - wow! And 49 is pretty with those beautiful waves, the people in the water and the rocks. It looks like 3DM. Lovely place in photo 52. Oh, I'd love to go for a trip in that gorgeous paddleboat! And there's Santa too! Shall I ask him? I love the yachts too, but I prefer the paddleboat... Wonderful beach in 57! And that water and rocks in 59 and 64 are ravishing! What a ride! The photos are great! One of your best albums, I think! Thank you so much for this wonderful journey. Some day, I will make it, with my own legs! Big hugs from Portugal, Rosa

Oh those Whitsundays! Just beautiful and brings back memories of an island hopping cruise we once did out of Shute Harbour. Has to be one of the world's top spots for sure. Did you get to Dingo Beach? We stayed in the main caravan park at Airlie Beach for a week (we were working as school photographers at the time and, after doing the photos at Proserpine had the rest of the week to ourselves) Wonderful days and your photos just bring everything to life so well. I chuckled at Marita's comments below - she has quite a soft spot for WA too!! Big hugs, Peter

My eyes are watering, my mouth is dooling, my fingers are booking my next ticket to Australia - I wish! Oh, Lorraine, don't do this to me.... But you remind me that the other reason why I like your beautiful country so much is the wonderful people, and may I say you're on my list of nicest ones I ever met (in this case not in person). Your warm and personal GB entries and the extraordinary photos you have in your albums tell a lot about you! Big huge Texas Cowgirl hugs from Houston, Marita.
