Hi Peter. Thank you for the compliment re my Barrington Tops album. I actually felt that my pics didn't do justice to the beauty of this area. There were lots more pics that I could have taken had the conditions been better. That gives me a good excuse to go back again. It seems to be green & lush in this area even when the rest of the state is dry. I love your forest pics for the same reason .. the lush greenery .. as well as the granduer of those karri trees ! All the best, Michael

Hi Peter. Many thanks for your GB entry. Thanks too for letting me know where to find all your 'Reflection" shots - the ones in this album, together with the rest of its content are magnificent. What magnificent trees and your photos certainly do justice to many a part of the Forest. I noticed that this was yet another of your well deserved Features missed when I had no computer or telephone line throughout April and the first 2 weeks in May. Belated congratulations on your achievement. Hugs to both yourself and Betty. Sue

Hi Peter, Sorry, I haven't looked at your albums for some time. Life has been very hectic recently and there is just not enough time for all the nice things in life. Thank you for all the comments you have made in my guestbook. It was great to be back in the Lake District. I have done 80+ Wainwrights, not sure of exact number. No new ones yet this year. I'm glad you like Watendlath, it's one of my favourite places too. Enough about me. I loved this album because I love forests. Your photos show some wonderful old trees. Snottygobble is a great name! We could do with more descriptive names like that! Did Betty climb to the top of the ladder? If she did, she's braver than me. I'm going to look at some more of your photos now. Take care, Pam

Beautiful album, Peter. As in any good photography, I felt as if I could step right into the pictures and walk along the shady woodland trails. The boardwalks were especially interesting the way they were built right into the trees - so it seemed, anyway. Yet more proof of why you are a favorite photographer of so many WS members! Lovely visit, as always. Your friend, Kat

Hi, Peter & Betty: I've never seen a flowering eucalyptus before (wow), nor a rope ladder to climb up a tree (I'd probably get all twisted up and have to slide down), nor do I know what a billabong is (taking a rest perhaps). Liked the monster of the deep shot also. I like to take walks (especially in a Redwood forest or at a beach). So many interesting things to see. Have a good day (it's been very wet here but hoping for a dry day or two before school is in session again). Nan

G'Day..we have spent many wonderful hours in Australia, but our favorite part is WA..been there 3 times, which is quite a feat since it takes us 17 hours to get there from here in Beautiful BC, Canada. I agree about the peace of those lovely Karri forests..Loved seeing your pictures..brings back a lot of memories! Thanks. DK, Victoria, Canada

Hi Peter, Congratulations being selected as our featured member. The Karri Forest is absolutely beautiful, and I am a forest lover too! I know what you mean about the silence and serenity of the forest. Our Adirondack Forests in Northern New York State, USA is my favorite place of refuge (hideaway). You have beautiful photos here. I enjoyed reading about the Karri trees too. But, what is a billabong? I remember the song about the billabong tree, but I'm not sure if that's what it is. I'll have to go back and look at the photo again. Thank you for sharing your album. Best wishes, Ray

Hi Peter, nobody ever came back from the Karri forest and didn't rave about it. These photos show me why, and whet my appetite to see it for myself. Your commentary really adds to the enjoyment of this album, although I wondered how you knew the woodman who owned the collage was old. You're on a winner here with this album old mate. Cheers, Keith.

Uploaded 5 days ago and there is no more space to write a comment!! Here I am, after so many long and wonderful entries and what should I do or say?.. everything is already taken! This can not happen again. First of all his albums should be titled " The Kingdom of the Kathy" ..that would be right to make up me being here in the boonies and being last and late!!! OK! I wented the steam and now to the business of saying that it is wonderful and very instructive .. there are some incredible shots which are like follows:8, 13, 18, 20, 33. then the sequence of the relections 43 to 48 MASTERPIECES!!, 66 and that's it, I would say it is a lot. Now, with 67 you scared the hell out of me.Hope you enjoyed my little story Peter. Say Ciao to Betty I am glad that she declined to go on that rampage to the top...Hugs/kathy

Hi Peter. Thanks for the invite and the educational tour of these forests. Very beautiful and well done. I did get a giggle from this sentence: "We lingered for a long time drinking in this scene" I first wondered what you were drinking while in the scene... that is my twisted perspective. Anyway enjoy the day. Take care! Eti

G'day Peter and I'm so glad to meet yet another Aussie in this (new to me) webshots family. I found you through Keith/magikeith's albums, & have just been wandering again through the awesome Karri forests of the south-west. Thank you so much for bringing back magical and mystical times spent in just those spots while living in Perth a few years back. Your photos are awe inspiring - and for all the time and effort it took to capture them - grateful thanks. I'll check more of your albums soon too. Cheers, Lorraine

Hi Peter, so you beat me to it! As I said before, I was hoping to be down there to photo your giant & famous trees (I have the book) & snorkel up on Ningaloo in april. Wife would not fly so far even with a stop at Singapore. I did get a good trip with shorter flights later in the year in exchange though! Great photos of the trees, love them all. Eric

Dear Peter, Finally I have time to comment on this album although I have enjoyed looking through the pictures already when you first invited me to look. I can't belive anything is called a Snottygobble tree LOL. You know don't you that this is just the kind of place I would love to explore. I loved all the reflection shots and its lovely to see a picture of Betty looking so relaxed too. How far did you get up that tree then ? I look at your second new album soon and really hope to catch up with you soon too. Hope all is ok love and hugs Jill

This is such a wonderful forest album!! Nice to see someone is helping me to fill this category up! Those giant trees are amazing! I appreciate you took pictures of all those information boards! And again a brand new Peter picture! So I believe you that you actually did climb up that giant tree! :-) And again I can't believe my eyes when I see those gorgeous pictures of the river reflecting the forest in its mirror water. # 53 is a great shot up to the crown of the tree. Thanks for your wonderful comment about my Anemones. I loved the part about the genii!!:) Have a wonderful day and lots of hugs for you and Betty! Galit

Hi Peter! Great shots of these giants of the forrest. We have trees down the coast that look like your photos but I think they are some sort of spotted gum. They are dead straight but about the size of telegraph poles in thickness. My favourites mate are all the reflection photos. Sorry I took so long to show up. Catch you later mate! Cheers Al

Hello Peter! I'm becoming a tad partial to you Aussies it seems!! You make my third Aussie mate - woohoo!! Firstly I would like to say I love the intimacy and the beauty of this album. You, having a long standing background in photography, do take beautiful photos but I do so enjoy the commentary you shared here. It makes it so much more interesting! I am forever asking questions, questions, questions due to my own experiences being so limited, so thank you (I’ll just throw away my pre-prepared questionnaire form – LOL). Now – pelicans? We don’t have pelicans and I’ve only seen them a handful of times in my life so I will be excited to see those riverboat pics! I’m glad you enjoyed the trumpeter swan album. Again, I had questions when I read about them visiting so near my home again this year (it’s the first I had heard of it) and when I looked them up I discovered how rare they were so I was very intrigued and did the research more for myself than anything plus there had to be some kind of ‘draw’ to keep people clicking through redundant bird pics, right? Thank you for making me a favorite and I will return the compliment as I have really enjoyed your site and look forward to seeing more of it in the future! Jeanie

Hello my friend, lovely album. The trees are not only gorgeous but so interesting to see, they are so big and so old and still living. I guess there is hope for us after all.LOL. I love the reflection of the trees in the water and the river, i think, with all the rocks. The whole album is beautiful and so interesting. As usual i've learned something from your album about those beautiful big trees. Did you really climb it? Did Betty have a go at it to? LOL. Thanks for sharing it Peter and i will be back to see part two....Hugs and glad your back...Claudette

Hi Peter! What a beautiful new album! I LOVE the trees - so majestic and the reflections with the dam water are gorgeous! I had to do a giggle at both of your tree-climbing antics and the names are a hoot! Love the flowering gum especially as I have recently discovered a whole lot of them over here - the flowers are so bright and beautiful and certainly rival the NZ Christmas Tree (dare I say it!). Also loved the old woodman's cottage :) Look forward to seeing more of your adventures!! Hugs, Kate

Snotty Gobble Tree, c'mon Peider, Bloke!!??? What side of the billabong do you think we grew up on??? Ha,...Alright, you're forgiven as long as you keep taking and sharing such wonderful pix with us..this album was worth waiting for. I am a softie for walks in the beautiful forrests. Actually some scenes reminded me of the redwood forrests in California, some of the of the beautiful woods in Germany. I whooped out my australia road atlas to find this wonderful place. We've made it down as far as Margaret River, so I guess we miss it by less then 50KM! Bummer! Waiting for more awesome scenery from you! Continued happy Trails, Marita, Houston, Tx. P.S.You should put a rating on your albums, that monster from the deep really scared me, drooling and all...

Hi Peter. What fun to trail along with you and Betty, traipsing through the forests. Snottygobble was a real hoot! I loved the little pools and the billabong in the forest, as well as the cascades, but my favorite of all this lot was your first of the Forest Reflections at Donnelly River. What a beautiful shot! I'm afraid I would have been feinting too, at climbing that tree with the ladder contraption. Loved the little cabins, too. Now, you really should have shared that breakfast with us, my friend. LOL Love and hugs, Charlotte
