Album Description:
Many people are interested in fungi because they are edible. But everyone also knows that wild fungi can be both delicious and deadly poisonous. Unfortunately, there is no simple way of saying what is edible and what is poisonous.

What a wonderful album. The basket fungi is really something, almost like a geodesic dome. There are only two that we eat, the morel, a spring one, that Trevor finds, once in a while I even find some, and the hen of the woods, a fall one, a very large lettucy looking one. They are really exciting because they feed so many. Neither have poisonous look alikes. Joan

Hi Bernard - I like this album – Thanks for sharing - I’m so pleased you enjoyed my “Commons Drive” album – It’s a very big album at over 400 photos and growing – I started taking photos at the Ground Breaking ceremony on December 1, 2008 – I take a few new shots each day as well as an occasional video! – So stop back often as I am always adding new shots – I work in the Destin City Hall Annex which is 500 meters north of the main City Hall building and have walk across Commons Drive under construction several times day - Please take a look at my “Blue Hand” album which was shot during the project - http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/570073462EoKWAK - - Hugs - Larry

I have enjoyed this album a lot. Many of the fungi I can recognize from the woods in Denmark, but others I had to look up on the internet and read about them...Thank you for broadening my horizon..regards Marianne

Hi Bernard, awesome collection. The old school says- boil mushrooms with onion-then if onion turns dark meaning fungi is poisonous. Difficult to answer. Thank you for your suggestion regarding Canada Challenge - we just came from Alaska and again going away...as usual I am running short of time at this moment. Wishing you all the best, kind regards, Rafal

Magnificent album (as all yours...). In italian we write FUNGHI, and we prononce the GH as G of God, glamour ecc. My grandfather was an expert collector... Compliments again for this so beautiful shots!

Just stopped by to check out teh new additions and Wow,simply wonderful! This would have taken you a while to find the mushrooms and then compose the shots. Wonderful focussed compostions! Great colour, I wonder if they are edible? They are too pretty to cut though. regards poppy in the land down under (Australia)

Bonjour Bernard: Astonishing and impressive collection of fungi - are most of them familiar to you - no difficulty to distinguish between edible and poisonous? Anyway: the latter are often the most beautiful ones. - Thank you for preparing this collection for us. No doubt you were mostly on knees or crawling while taking pictures...? - With best wishes: Kaethi and Henri

Hello Bernard; What a Fabulous album. I never would have thought of phtographing mushrooms, but you have opened up a whole new world for me. These are mushrooms here that I have never seen before and I am certain that we must have many here that would be new to you. I will have to go out when they surface again. Thank you for sharing a most interesting album. Warm regards, my friend... Marjie/Olympia,WA

Hi Bernard, I enjoyed visiting another beautiful album of yours. These pictures of the mushrooms are very good. Thanks for sharing them. Thanks for your kind words in my Old Jaffa album. I'm pleased to show some other views of Israel than the ones people are used to see on TV and newspapers. Believe me that what you usually see is not the true face of my country. Take care, Yair.
