You are a brave soldier risking life and limb to take these images of these mini beasts, they have a very nasty bite.

Hi! Proverbs 6:6 says: Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! So true, and you've really captured it! I was told as a child that these ants had a bad bite, but of course I had to find out for myself and put my finger into a nest.. And yes, they do!! Happy Easter! Best wishes from Hildegunn

Hi Brian, I don't think I've ever seen so many closeups of ants before! I came across a whole line of leafcutter ants while in Costa Rica and I think out of the huge number of photos I took, only 1 was in focus!! Anyway, enough rambling ... congratulations for making Feature Member! Well done and well deserved! Cheers, Sharon, Brisbane Australia

Hi Brian, congratulations on the featured member of the week status. Amazing photos of these little creatures. Have had lots in my garden to the extent they were killings many plants. The land had been barren for many years & being light sandy soil they had taken it over. Have to admit that I had never thought of trying to photograph them, only how to get rid of them! Eric

What kind of camera do you have that can take such great pics close up? Thanks for your comment on my guestbook. tom

Always wondered who inspired the the movie "Ants." Now I know. I would need 6 arms to count the hours I played with, and watched, ants as a kid. Any time I'm out traveling and come upon an ant-hill, I can't resist dropping in a piece of some type food and watch the hu-bub around it. Fun observation of nature. Fun album, and I appreciate your appreciation of nature. Enjoyed the picture titles too. Sincerely, Seattle, USA
