Hey Rod - I'm a huge fan of the English series, Doc Martin, and I believe that it was filmed in Cornwall. Is this correct? What a quaint place it is and how lovely it would be to visit. Regards..Sue

Hi Rod: a marvellous album from an extraordinary region. Land and houses remind us closely the Bretagne - which after all is quite natural.- We particularly appreciate that your pics, though scenic, are not "easy postcard views"! - Thanks also for your kind remark in our "St.Aventin" album, end of June. - Best wishes: Kaethi and Henri

Good morning Rod. Thanks for all the comments etc in my Wildflowers and Walk Trails album - twelve months ago we would have said no way could the park ever return to it's former glory but well, it's getting there now! You mentioned weddings in a cave - some 15 years ago we actually photographed a wedding in one of our local caves. What a day it was, absolutely POURING with rain, which exposed fissures etc in the roof that no one knew were there. Then the bride's mother got claustrophobia and had to be taken out! But the ceremony was fine and the bride and groom had keen senses of humour, even when she had to make a mad dash to the waiting car under a huge golf umbrella and holding her dress almost up to her waist to try and keep it dry. I got some great photos that day and proved beyond doubt that the Nikon would take a soaking in it's stride! A wedding to remember!! catch you later and thanks again. Peter

Hello Rod! What can I say with all those words of high appreciation. I am very touched, grateful and feel humble. I am happy that you found the Peru album to your liking! I found Peru a very inspirational place (especially the experience in machu Picchu), full of frindly people, intent on hospitality. Before going there, it was just a geographical location in South America. Now, it has left an indelible impression on my mind. Thank you for all those kind words. I would like to spend time with your albums, but, right now, webshots is behaving very slowly and erratically. I will come back as soon as it settles down. Once again, thank you! Best wishes, Suersh from India

Hi Rod! I feel as though I have really visited Cornwall this morning -- enjoyed a wonderful tour through your stunning photos and much easier than travelling all that way. So many of the names are intriguing such as Lizard Lighthouse and Mousehole Harbour, but they make wonderful pictures. But I have heard of Land's End and #32 shows it to prefection in the afternoon light. The Ocean Gazer #43 is awesome and the reflected sunset makes such a fitting background. Your interesting captions complete a great album, thanks for sharing.. Best wishes.. Gladys, Western Australia.

Hi Rod, Well I managed to get back here eventually. Mind you, even now it seems to be working in slow motion plus we have some lightning around so I keep loosing my connection. All very frustrating. Anyway, I have now been through them all again and still think they are all wonderful. Have you ever seen the Cornwall Cam website Rod? Your pictures are certainly as good as those on there. I reckon you could set up your own site and would get lots of people taking a look. A fine album. Will be back soon to enjoy some more piccies. Till then. Have a good weekend Rod. Love Chesca #####

Hi Rod! Thanks for stopping by my All Creatures feature this week. I love this album - shows me all the places we DIDN'T get to on that trip. We thought staying in Devon meant we'd get to explore Cornwall too, but it ended up being too much driving and there was so much to see in Devon anyway. Next trip! You've got some very fine images here - I love all the harbors and coastal villages. Warm greetings from California, Beth

Hi Rod, you show Cornwall of well, we had several of our "best" hols there when much younger. Many thanks for your kind comments on my featured "Summer fields of Norfolk" album today. I guess the ideal summer in England would be to have a helicopter & fly between Carnwall & Norfolk depending on the best weather on the day! Today you would definately sooner have been in Cornwall, I was down beach at 9am with spray lashing 10 foot high over the prom. Eric

Hi Rod, Do you know, its an odd thing but I know I've looked at this album before but there are so many pics I can't remember that i think my brain is going. Also, where I'm sure I would have left a message there isn't one. Very spooky. Sooooo Rod, what I'm going to do is go through the whole album again and leave some more messages. I haven't the time tonight but you can bet your largest memory card that it will be within the next couple of days. I can alreay see you have had the painter out putting the shine on the water for you again. You must let me know how much he charges. Im sure I can fit him in my suitcase. Also, thank you SO SO much for all that really kind comments for my latest albums and especially for the Portmeirion one. To have you say you think it worthy of a feature is truly an honour. I can only imagine how it must feel to actually have an album featured. You really are too kind. You must go there - your pictures would be gorgeous!!Anyway, I'm all talked out now and must go and have some dinner Rod. Take care now, and i will return pronto. Till then, Love Chesca #####

I've been trying to work out which are the additions but in the end I just picked out two or three that I had missed out with messages and hope they are the ones! Many thanks indeed for your comments on my new Adelaide album. Most photos were taken in quite adverse conditions, or at least conditions we West Aussies are not used to! Jason did us proud - he didn't win but finished a very creditable 4th out of (a)7 finalists and (b) 3000 entrants in all, Australia wide. Next year's finals are being held in Canberra so we hope he makes it through once again as it will be great to meet up with Al. Thanks once again and all best wishes, Peter

Good morning Rod. I've been here before but I never tire of viewing your wonderful captures of Cornwall. Hope you never tire of photographing it's beauty. I've also called to say thank you so much for stopping by the day of my Whitby feature and you most gracious g/b note and photo comments. Features are fun but it's those that call that make the day that extra special. I appreciated your visit. Leaving for Vegas on Sunday. 9 days there, a week in Wyoming and returning back to Vegas for a few days before flying back to the UK. Looking forward to many, many photo opportunities during my visit to the USA. Take care and enjoy your summer. Oh, and thanks for commenting on the happenings in our street. We had quite a fright as you can well imagine. All back to normal now. Thanks for your concern. Take care and enjoy our exceptionally hot summer. Kind regards, Jayne xx

Dear Rod, I have so enjoyed this album which truly does show the beauty of Cornwall. You photographs are all so beautifully clear, and the colours are superb. I visited that area in 1970 and really loved it. To my Aussie eyes, the villages are all so quaint. I have an album entitled "Aussie Photos" with typical Australian shots. I thought you may be interested to view it. I will return to your albums for more trips through Britain. Best wishes, Judith.

Hello Rod and once again I am writing to thank you for looking at some of my photos - this time the kangaroos. Late afternoon is definitely the best time to go out with a view to photographing them as they virtually ignore us, allowing us to get as close as we wish. Can be a nuisance if we are attempting to play golf though because they won't get out of the way and sit there looking at us as if we were crazy! So we have to eat humble pie and take a "preferred lie". Would hate to hit any of the wildlife with a golf ball and Betty is worse than me - she once moved her ball to be sure she wouldn't hit a snake that was sunning itself in the middle of the fairway! I wanted to add a penalty stroke for that but was talked out of it! Best wishes, Peter

I have visited here before but didn’t have time to finish my trip with you. I downloaded lots of these pictures because I just loved these places. I love the sea and the life of the fisherman and lived all my life around places like this in my own country, Portugal. I truly thank you for the opportunity you offered me to visit here. Hi Rod! It is a pleasure to revisit this lovely album and to see your new additions (pleased the sun was kind to you for your holiday). Loved the Port Isaac scenes, especially the Harbour views which were ample reward for walking up there. Cleaning up and rebuilding after floods is a huge job, but it is nice that the historic house is being restored. Thanks for sharing. Thankyou also for your lovely g/b message a little while ago (it is hard to keep track of my g/b now with this new system). Morning Rod. Lovely weather we are have having isn't it. Lets hope it stays for while. Have seen some more of the lovely photos in this album and I love everyone of them. If I had never been to Cornwall before I'm sure I would be making arrangements to get there and quickly. I'm so hoping the weather is kind to me when I go. My mum absolutely adores the pic you took at Lands Ends of the lighthouse. She thinks it is STUNNING! I have to agree with her. I still can't download anything to my laptop from webshots so until I get my new pc I will just have to look at it on here. Thanks for visiting my Blenheim album. I had a lovely day but it was very hot. When I went into the butterfly house it was 109F and I was in danger of my camera sliding out of my hands. I was a tad dissapointed in as much as they didn't have as many varieties or colours as I had hoped and not many of them would stay still long enough. What a cheek! I know us photographers make our own opportunities but it helps if the subject co-operates now and then. Anyway, I'm always so chuffed that you like my piccies. Means a lot coming from someone with your talent for photography Rod. Hope you are having a great weekend. Have a good week also. Till next time, take care. Love Chesca xx

Love the album, Rob. I used to be involved in mining and I remember wandering around the mines of Cornwall as a student. Wonderful, wild place and full of wonderful characters.

Hello Rod. I've been all through this wonderful album with Peter (he has been through it at least 3 times that I know of). Amazing isn't it, but even after 36 years out here our hearts are still in Glorious Devon and Cornwall. Your photos are such a wonderful tonic to us. You wrote such lovely words in my Five Minutes from Home guest book - thank you very much and with encouragement like this I can only improve. Hugs, Betty

Dear Rod: Looking at your beautiful pictures gives ample explanation that you loved your Cornwall holidays! What a superb region, loaden with impressions of all kinds, to begin with prehistoric times. And as a geologist, I am particularly fond of these wonderfully shaped granitic rocks. - Thank you for presenting us these enchanting records - thanks also for your kind words in the Webshots Blog! With best wishes: Kaethi and Henri.

Dear Rod, I have now viewed this album three times and I know I will view it many more time too because you can never tire of seeing views and quality images such as these. I am so pleased to see a new album from you and the subject couldn't be better. I am so pleased too that the sun shone for you and I do hope that Chris has thawed out by now ;o) I just loved all the fishing boats, the cliff top scenes and lighthouses. The light as the sun was setting at Lands End was just perfect I bet you were so excited by that. Thank you too for the picture of Boscastle We spent our honeymoon staying there almost 25 years ago now so its a special place for us I am glad they are rebuilding much of the beautiful town. Now Rod thank you for all your recent visits to my GB's I always value your comments so much. I had my arm well and truly twisted to exhibit some pictures but it wasn't nearly as scary in the end as I thought it would be. To be honest seeing my pictures printed was just the most exciting thing We are so used to seeing them on the computer screen and we hardly ever print them and certainly not the size I did for the exhibition. I'm sure I will be back to wander around Cornwall with you again and I'll not be in the least bit surprised if this wonderful album is featured. Take care now my friend Jill

Hi Rod, your vacation trip was appreciated by all who have seen your photos but I hope you didn't keep poor Chris out in the cold for too many hours at a time! Your photographs are always so perfect - do you ever have to delete any? Your eye for perspectives, color and photo content are superb - a lesson to all of us. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us. ... Warm Florida wishes to you and Chris, Judy

Hi Rod, Sure like this album, the sea and boats, quaint cities and old historical names that conjure up pirate stories of old. Sounds to me like you've wanted to eject yourself into this kind of behavior since you were a kid?! Your descriptions are right-on and appreciate your showing of this album. An Oregon Coast Greetings. Ron

Hi Rod! I can see you had a great holiday in Cornwall and I am so pleased the Sun shone nicely for you too so you could get these wonderful photos. Great album, excellent photography and lovely presentation with all the interesting details which are so helpful to those of us so far away. You taught me new things too -- I had never heard of Lizard Point or Mousehole Harbour, but love them both now I have seen their beauty. Too hard to pick favourites here, but Trawler Reflections stands out for me tonight. Many thanks for your lovely g/b message and I am pleased you enjoyed following me around Tasmania (it is as similar as you will get to England over here). I have chosen to Block messages on Individual Photos (for the time being anyway) because I prefer to have all my messages together in my g/b instead of plastered throughout my albums. I realise that it is convenient for the Viewer to drop messages under individual photos, but I fail to see advantages for the Receiver. Hope you understand.. It would help if Webshots could change their wording to show "Blocked by Member" when appropriate.. Best wishes.. Gladys, Western Australia.

Aw Rod, what can I say? When you told me you were off to Cornwall I won't tell you what I thought!! Just a magnificent album that I have already viewed twice and will no doubt be revisiting many more times. Thanks for your comments on my Southern Ocean album and also the Shoebox - both pall into insignificance alongside this one of yours, but wait - I pick up my new camera towards end of this week!! Catch you later Rod, Peter. PS - got many more photos to tease me with from this trip?

Hey Rod, how lovely to be the first to comment. This is such a lovely Album. Do you ever take a bad shot? I'd be surprised if you do. I bet there isn't many. I will be recomending this to my brother as he absolutely loves Cornwall and hopes to live there one day. If you ever need someone to hold your camera bag - I'm volunteering. Think I may have spelt that wrong. Lovely work Rod! You must be very proud. I have left some comments under some photos for you. I think this is a great feature as you can see which pictures people like in particular. Its great also to be able to single out such beautiful pictures, and remark about them. I'm waffling now I think. I hope you had a lovely time. It certainly looks like it. Hope you are keeping well. Bye for now Rod. Love Chesca. xx
