I did the same trip with my parents, family and 5 junior high age boys back in 1959, when I was 11 years old. It took us all day to hike from Guitar Lake to the summit...we ended up spending the night on top of Whitney...just sleeping bags for "shelter". Thanks for sharing your pictures...it brought back a lot of wonderful memories! Kathy

Gorgeous shots, and wonderful memories. I hiked Whitney about 20 yrs ago, so these pictures sure brought back all those feelings, great and not-so. Yep, I got altitude sickness the night at Guitar Lake, also, but managed to make it to the summit...one...step...(pu ff, puff)...at...a...time. Again, great album, and congratulations. Sydney

Congratulations on a very scenic featured album, just glad it was you hiking & not me! Our largest mountain in this part of UK is all of 380ft high! I do like your shooting star photos, I do not remember seeing a photo of them growing in the wild before. I do try to grow one in my garden but very dry for them. Eric
