Thanks, Bonnie, for all your nice and interesting comments in our Gander album from September 11 - 2001 in "oertlif"! We never forget these so friendly and helpful people! We are so sorry that we hadn't taken more photos from these so busy (for us!!) people and from the surroundings; but we have been so tired from sitting 28 hours in a plane and then bad nights, that we elderly people didn't feel so well... When we could go out in the city, it was for short moments, for phoning to our families in Switzerland and France (thanks that you have installed so many phones for us!!!). Also we had to be close to our Center in case we were called by the captain to go back to the plane... It was a hard time for us, but we were so thankful that our American Airlane plane was save! And all you wonderful people from Newfoundland, you did the best to help us! GREAT THANKS again to you all! I love your albums showing us Newfounland as we couldn't see it then! Beat wishes, Henri and Kaethi, Swiss living in France

You all were in a state of shock. As a matter of fact, so were we. In the good ways of our ancestors, ways which we followed that included 'KINDNESS', we pulled out all the stops to help in any way we could to lighten your fractured hearts. 'Do Under Others' is the motto most Newfoundlands take very seriously. We could not believe what was happening-it was like Orsen Wells years ago, telling this story and scaring the daylights out of everyone. It was our extreme pleasure to do all we could. Bonnie--FROM THE ROCK WITHIN THE SEA-NEWFOUNDLAND!!
