I was #5 at ranger station for a permit, didn't get what we wanted. Went back later to check for cancellations, no luck. Got a late start, but it was a short hike. (wk 33, day 1)

OMG! Your camp at Horton Lake is the exact same spot I bivied one year ago on my Mt. Tom attempt. Gotta love Lubken Rd... I go that way all the time when going up to Horseshoe Meadows; I always enjoy the daisies.
