Yes, the flowers in the background are cosmos. I hope you can find some touch-me-nots next year. I would bet you have them also. Do a search for them, also called jewel weed, in Webshots and you will see pictures of their flowers which would be easier to find. Everyone of these photos in this album are wonderful!! Vermont truly is " God's Country " !!! My grandparents lived in NH and I remember back in the 70's traveling from Ohio to NH in an old station wagon and we were wondering if that old car was gonna make it up them mountains in Vermont..it did..slowly..lol..such pretty country up North.
