Hi Paul, Nice albu,we suffered the same thing here in Virginia. Ice is so pretty but very hard to capture in photos, it just never looks as awesome as it does in person. You did a good job capturing the moment. Britt

Ops,paysage vraiment un hiver froid désolant et beaucoup de passe en cédant au pas à la belle saison lequel il veut patience.Sa beauté le montre voir ses contours très froids. Merci pour partager. Giancarlo-Italie

Of all the winter weather we get in Ontario, I most dislike the ice-storms. It was during one of these several years ago, that I suffered a heart attack. Yet I survived; but they bring terror to me.

I am glad I live on the west coast, although we also had a snow calamity here this year. I love the pics with iced tree branches, it is better than just snow. Also birds perched on those icy branches are great! Jana

My goodness, Paul, evrything looks so freezing cold in your album. Some of the pictures, such as the birds braving the cold; icicles hanging from the rear view mirror; the lonely tree in the snow field were truly representative of the havoc the storm must have caused. As always, you have here an outstanding album. Thank you, for your comments on my Kodi album. Yes, it is green like Cochin; however, the comparison stops there, Cochin is a sea port, where as Kodi is perched up in the hills 7000 ft. high: a lovely town. Best wishes, Suresh

Hi Paul: very impressive pictures, macro and micro, of this demonstration of nature! Should we complain - or better be conscient that there is a force around us that no human perfection can control! - We hope that you, at home, did no suffer from its negative sides! - With all our best wishes and greetings: Kaethi and Henri

Hi Paul. I heard about this storm from a friend; it must have been really something! But you've captured the lovelier side of the ice. Still, "birds fighting for survival" is a reminder that it has darker implications. Very effective photos here. And thanks for visiting my new water garden album-in-progress. - Brenda

Hi Paul! Thank you for sharing this great album to us! Your pictures just highlighted the ice storm effect. Honestly, I want to have some wintry mix in my area, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. Currently, I am in the South and it's getting warmer.

I just watched the slideshow of this album and I congratulate you on putting together such a beautiful collection of photographs. Although the ice is beautiful to see, it is quite another story when you have to drive in it! I was caught in an Alberta ice storm two years ago and it was the most frightening driving I have ever experienced. I see that the ice didn't stop you from heading out doors with your camera. Paul, I just shivered as I looked at this gorgeous album....not only from the cold, but because the pictures are so beautiful. It did make for a great slideshow like Roberto said, but I just noticed something I hadn't noticed before.......we are able to stop the zooming if we want to. WS has answered the request of many of us who did not like that feature. Back to your album - hope you did not experience any power outages. Being without power for days during a hurricane is one thing because the weather is hot, but I can't imagine being without power for days and not having heat in the winter. God Bless, Carol

Hi Paul! I have really enjoyed your album! Furthermore it has brought to my eyes the winter that here hatill to come! You are right ... the new slideshow frame is much better. I love the black background (it enhances to pics) and the moving / zooming effects that brings movement to the show. The only negative comment is that it cuts the pictures (and not only a few) and sometimes you miss the meaning a framing or a composition if you don't see it entirely! Ciao from Torino. Roberto

Stunning work. Isn't it amazing that something that causes so much damage can create such beautiful images?

Hello Paul, you have some great shots here. I especially like the frozen trees with sun behind & the frozen berries. I did hear about your ice storm as I am also a member of a gdn forum with members in Ontario. So you are back to a normal winter now after all that green grass through december! Thankyou for your comments on my trees & old Antarctic photo albums, sorry it has taken me a long time to get back but have been rather busy. I was interested that your brother served on the John Biscoe, that was new when I was down there. We had to go down & stand by it in feb 1957 when it was trapped in the ice off Maurice Faure Islands. Had to drop anchor on the midnight watch in a strong gale with driven snow, no wonder I remember it well!! That album, I took on my recent trip as a CD & did a talk after dinner one night that went down very well with the other passengers. For me it was a fantastic experience to go back after 50 years & a great cruise, we did 9 landings in Antarctica. Eric
