  • Hello - thanks for visting my Greenland Winter Walk without Snow. I agree with you. It's amazing how much our forests look alike - yet so far away! Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year! Lori

  • Hi, Nice album. Finland looks a lot like Oregon! Thanks for your comments on some of my albums

  • Hi Iijoki, it certainly seems most of the Northern Hemisphere had a very mild December, friends in Canada were complaining about no snow. I expect you have had some by now. these photos of yours show the forest in all its glory, do not suppose the trees miss the snow! Thankyou for your visit & comment on my natures abstract photo. I see a lot of your album was taken at 63 deg north, you may be interested that was taken around 63 deg south! Eric

  • Hi Iijoki, I like the green that remains, even in winter. Your opening photo shows off both the green and the brown very well. We have a snowless winter here in Pennsylvania USA too until just last Wednesday (got 2 feet of it, ~0.6m), and I'm still digging out a little today. Thanks also for your comments recently on some of my photos of ice formations along a nearby creek. I invite you back too: I just uploaded some new photos to that album in the last 2 days. Mike

  • Hi Iijoki! I always think that Finland would have lots of snow all winter long, but never had the pleasure of visiting there, so it has always just been in my mind that you would get a lot of snow there. Your album is lovely just the same without snow! Very strange winter it has been just about every place this year. We had a very warm winter; then very, very cold. More ice than snow. Thanks for your guestbook message about the spring photo I included in the weekly challenge. Just trying to have a little fun and cheer up the days until spring arrives. Sharon

  • Hi iijoki, Sorry for the name mispelling in one of my comments. Your December album was very interesting to see. The weather here was almost identical to yours and occured about the same times, including rain, freezing rain, ice, sleet then snow. It's been a different winter. I hope your enjoying the snows now. have a happy and white January & February, Ray

  • Finnish forests have many blueberry plants but the amount of actual blueberries depends on the weather in the spring and summer.

  • Very nice album. Thank you for sharing it. I wish I could get into those blueberries when summer gets here.

  • Beautiful album, Iijoki. Thank for sharing this woodland walk with us. We are having a similar winter in Western North Carolina. Pisgah National Forest looks alot like this with no snow at all! There is so much beauty to see in the winter. Love your photos. Tibby
