Sorry I am so late in responding. The Appalachian Trail is somewhat east of here. It goes east-southeast from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a while and then down into Georgia. I live south-southwest of the park, in central Polk County, just west of the Cherokee National Forest, where I take a lot of my mountain scenes.
