Welcome, Darlene! I sounds like you have moved to a veritable bird/birder's paradise with perfect habitats! I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Marquette. We're having our usual very cold and snowy weather. Look forward to seeing your species- sound close to ours. We see the pileated, hairy and downy woodpeckers and lately, the lovely pine grosbeaks have been poking around. Congrats on the feature.

Congratulations on your featured album, Darlene. It's glorious - goldfinches are so beautiful. Funny, they're the state bird of NJ but I never see them when I'm there; I see them more in NY where we had DOZENS - and yes, especially males in their magnificent color - this summer. These are marvelous photos of these colorful birds. The comments and explanations really make viewing even nicer. I was not aware that goldfinches changes clothes for winter. Hi Darlene, love your goldfinch photos. They are quite different to our UK goldfinch's, the winter plumage shots look more like our female chaffinch. Off now ro view a few more of your back 'Garden' birds LOL. Congratulations on the feature. Eric

Hello Darlene! This is a lovely album. The close-ups are VERY well-done! We have golsfinches, too, here on Vancouver Island, but they are not commonly seen. It's a treat when they Do app0ear, & I've never seen them in the Winter! All the best from B.C.---Nancy
