Welcome, Darlene! I sounds like you have moved to a veritable bird/birder's paradise with perfect habitats! I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Marquette. We're having our usual very cold and snowy weather. Look forward to seeing your species- sound close to ours. We see the pileated, hairy and downy woodpeckers and lately, the lovely pine grosbeaks have been poking around. Congrats on the feature.

Funny, they're the state bird of NJ but I never see them when I'm there; I see them more in NY where we had DOZENS - and yes, especially males in their magnificent color - this summer.
