  • Hello Galit, you have found another colourfull one to educate me with. I do not remember ever seeing this one on my travels, I guess those thorns put people off. Had to look it up in my book & there is a variety described as a large shrub with the name E -crista-galli also called coral tree in UK. It is claimed to be able to grow on a sunny warm wall with winter protection in UK. Will have to look out for it if I travel to warm pastures again! LOL. Eric

  • Hello Galit! Wow, what a blaze of red! The flower looks so strikingly similar to the Erythrina we have here. Great photography. It is so difficult to capture the red colour and you have done it with ease; moreover, as you said, it has special significance for you. I enjoyed the slideshow. Take care, my friend! Suresh

  • Thank you for introducing me to this fascinating tree with your beautiful photos! We sure don't have any in Virginia, USA. I don't suppose they would like our winters -- though it's not as cold as the more northern states, we had snow last night, on April 7! I hope all's well with you and you're having a good Passover, Galit. Best wishes, SJ Abrams

  • Greetings o genie and what a pleasure it was to see you popping up in my guest book last week! It was as though I had rubbed the magic lamp and there you were!! And the same magic lamp has brought be to your beautiful album of Coral Trees and I have felt right at home because, as Sandra has already told you, we have Coral Trees by the hundreds and they make a wonderful picture, as you have shown. The slide show is perfect for an album like this as most of your pictures are centred and the important bits do not get cut off, as is the case with lots of other photos we look at that way. We also have the Coral Bush, by the way and I'm pretty certain I have shown you that at some time. Hope all is well with you and yours - any more grandchildren yet??? Love and hugs, Peter

  • Hi Galit! An awesome album in Red -- plenty of colour and warmth to make any day feel cheerful. With such an amazing display of flowers in front of you, it would be hard to know which one to photograph first. You have done a great job of capturing them from all angles, even the petals from ground level.. well done! The colours are wonderful and the whole album makes delightful viewing.. Best wishes.. • evening all...here I am, in Bonnie Scotland, tickled pink to have two coral trees just on the go and one seed just 'popped' today!. I bought these on eBay last year and put them at the back of my fridge, as instructed, and forgot all about them until about a month ago. I lost the instructions...but I remembered I had to put them in warm water for 24 hours. Well, it took a lot longer than 24 hours for them to 'pop' but about 3 weeks down the line they did. I planted them approx 10th. May and one is now about 5" high, the other about 2" high. The latter had two shoots and I decided to remove one. Anyway I will keep this site posted if anyone is interested! love urmate

  • Hi my friend! Therse pictures are fabulous! In The Gambia where my African home is, there are many Coral trees, species Erythrina Senegalensis. Unfortunately I have no photo of them, but I will take some next winter when I'm there.
