  • I took a visit to see the Queen's Gallery by Holyrood House. I had a nice suprise that as a local I can visit as often as I like within a year at no extra charge. The pictures do change every now and again, at the mo its art on show is plants and wildlife as seen in the colony america back in the 1700s. When Liz [or whom ever decides] makes a change to what is on show I'll go back to view the art in the Queen's collection. Enric Miralles the Catalan architect won a internationl competition in 1998 to design the Parliament Buildings a group of individual units sensitive to the scale of Queensberry House [the offices of the Presiding Officer 'Speaker'] once an Army Hospital. One is not allowed to take photos inside but when the Parliament is NOT sitting you are allowed to take photos from the public Gallery in the Debating Chamber. I visited Holyrood and took the tour on the 16th March 2007. Personaly I love the Parliament Building inside and out I think its wonderful. Holyrood Parliament sits across from Holyrood Palace. Those are the equilavent of Westminster and Buckingham Palace in London.
