Mr. Jung: I've enjoyend seeing your photographs of Kentucky's covered bridges. If you are interested in Kentucky's former covered bridges I have recently co-authored with Melissa Jurgensen a book on the subject. It features 210 photographs of 127 Kentucky covered bridges (including the thirteen extant). An additional 23 former Kentucky covered bridges are mentioned in the text. The book is titled Kentucky's Covered Bridges and was published by Arcadia Publishing. It is in current release. I have been researching the subject since I was five years old and over the past thirty-four years, my collection has grown to be the largest collection of Kentucky covered bridge photographs and information to exist. I am the former Associate Director of the now defunct Kentucky Covered Bridge Association and I have also created a database of over 700 former Kentucky covered bridges. Melissa has been researching the subject for about fifteen years and has amassed an impressive collection as well. Her collection also includes over 200 photographs from my collection that I allowed her to copy. She alone is responsible for the discovery of documentation proving that the King's Mill covered bridge was removed in 1926 and is NOT at the bottom of Herrington Lake as as been believed for over eighty years. A slightly out of date copy of my database appears on Melissa's Kentucky Covered Bridge website. Should you wish to contact me regarding information on the book or on Kentucky's covered bridges past and present, you may contact me at Laughlin.Robert@Gmail.com . Thank you very much; Walter Laughlin
