OMG, your hummingbird pictures are beautiful. I only have one that comes into my yard. I wish more would come in.

An interesting album Sam. I love taking picture of them but I don't see any hummingbirds here at all. Too bad.

Hello Sam...I always enjoy viewing your humming birds....they are always fun to watch. I'm sure soon, they will be heading off to the south for the cooler months of weather. Thanks for stopping by my Swallowtail Butterfly album and leaving your warm comments. I hope you're enjoying the summer months. Have a great week Sam! Deb

Hi Sam. Your comments took me straight to rhis stunning collection of ruby-throated hummers. I've just finished watching it as a slideshow and each shot is a knockout. The emerald hummer is widely abundant in the entire Caribbean region. Down here in Cuba, they can be found everywhere and all year round, even in houses and garden. I've even seen them fluttering around my terrace plants. However, it takes so much patience and time to make captures like these -you know that too well, don't you? But it's a very rewarding effort at the end of the day. These images bear this out. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments; much appreciated. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.

What a GREAT album. You did a good job with your shots. I have a few hummingbird pics, but they seldom sit still (while I am watching anyway)! I was able to get a few that arent blurry, but no where as many as yours. My feeder doesnt really have perches, so maybe next summer I will get one or two more. Again - great job! Take care. ~~Mary

Your photos are beautiful. I see you have several different kinds of feeders with the birds approving of each. We have only the Ruby-throated up here in Western Michigan - as far as I know. Most of my shots come from inside the house but they will tolerate me on the deck when they visit the feeders. They leave here the first week of October and are greatly missed until their return the first week of May. Hope you are enjoying your summer months. - DeeAnne :)

Awesome pics! It's a lot of fun trying to capture hummingbirds in flight. Thanks for the comment on my pic of the female on the nest. To answer your question, I couldn't stay away from her, she was literally 8 feet in front of my front door at eye level. My camera has a 15x optical zoom, so I didn't have to get too close for the pics. The best ones were at night, though, since she didn't move even from the camera flash.
