Hi nice pictures, but it is spelled Butchart and it is a English name. The Butchart's were from England originally. My Mother remembers going out for tea, served by Mrs. Butchart and the gardens were free to get into. Did you see the fireworks on Saturday night? The fireworks at Butchart Gardens is one of the best displays in the whole world and definately worth seeing, but they are only shown during the summer months. At Christmas time the gardens are alive with millions of christmas lights, also well worth seeing. Reading through your guestbook it seems alot of people come to BC in bad weather, believe me this year we had three month run of very hot weather. The best time to see the gardens is in July and August. I am glad you enjoyed my part of the world, next time go see Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew, that beach is a one of a kind and has been featured on TV and studied by scientists from all over the world.

Enjoyed your photos immensely, however,I did notice an error. Takakkaw Falls are located in the Yoho National Park in British Columbia, not Alberta as you have listed labelled. Having been born and raised in British Columbia I assure you that these falls are a B.C. treasure.

I lived in the Clearwater area where I often visited "Dawson, n Helmken Falls" They are truly wonderful to behold...I can still feel and smell the mist at Helmken Falls, and hear the pounding of the water, as it rushes to the river below!!
