  • Dave, this is wonderful. I enjoyed a slideshow of this album as I prepare to start a job tomorrow, and in so doing, I'm giving up some of my free time. Keep shooting and sharing; it's the only way most of us (in the west) will see your country. ... Warm regards, Judy

  • Browsed and enjoyed. While at school in Paarl Gim in the first half of the previous century, I spent one holiday with a school chum in the Ceres and Wolsely Area.

  • Hello everyone: I realise that writing a message in my own guestbook makes me something of a Digital Dunce, but I am obliged to place my album description here because every time I try to put it in the proper place, it gets cut in half by the the Ghost In The Machine. So here goes......... The Ceres Valley lies in the heart of South Africa's Boland - the "Uplands" north-west of our Mother City, Cape Town. Ringed by purple, sun-washed mountain ranges, this green and fertile river valley is one of the most prolific producers of deciduous fruits in the southern hemisphere. Unfortunately, you won't see much evidence of "sun-washed" mountains in these shots because they were taken in the dead of winter. I've resisted the urge to "clean up" or lighten the images because I wanted to convey the brooding, sombre beauty on the mountains and valleys at this time of the year.

  • Wonderful sky and clouds. I love to watch them. Also I like the moment when sun is setting or rising, green grass and....to travel. So we have so much common. We all in Webshots. But we are oo how different.

  • You've been on my list of bookmarked members for quite some time, Dave, and I've promised myself to come have a GOOD and SERIOUS look at your albums! I only saw some shots here and there to make me consider you a MUST SEE!So, here I am, after looking on the big screen at this album and I have already had the impression I was watching one of the documentaries on National Geographic - which channel I love so much!!!! YOU are blessed there with raw beauty where elements combine in a huge and unequalled canvas!!! What fantastic landcapes!!!!!I'm glad you let the photos as they were, without doing any adjustments! What a joy you offer us! Thank you! Friendliest regards from Japan, Gabriela

  • You have a message. By the way, have you seen the long captions that "ourjrny" have to her pictures? I think she writes it in Word and paste it in. Never had much to say about my own albums. Faul
