Spirit of Delight ~ Autumn Colours ~ Tanana River Valley Interior Alaska

I used to live for fall foilage, new spring greens and fresh winter snows...I miss all of this here in subtropical Houston D:! Every once a while we have some fall colour on my b'day, a week before xmas! And that's just a tree here and there...bummer...my heart just leapt with your first shot. Thanks so much also for your inspiring words on my albums. The other day you mentioned when you were living in Germany, you "only" had a 35mm...isn't it amazing how our perception has changed with the advent of the digital camers....before dig. I would usually come home with 4 -5 rolls of 36 pix films for a 2 week trip - now I come home with about 2000! I try and capture every little detail I notice now..almost like I want to preserve every little emotion and special view ...I didn't get a digital camera until 2003, when most of my travels were already done...what a shame...the opportunties I've missed!!! And often there were so many trips in a year, I just started confusing places...wouldn't have happened had I had a digital. I remember much better, I pay even more attention, and I do record such different aspects, much more details etc...How awesome would it be to re-take all these travel opportunities of the past but now with my trust little Sony DSC-R1 I got last year? I love the camera, can't change the lenses but you know, it's got a 24-130mm equiv, which is perfectly adequate for me and I can always get a zoom attachment...Oh...time for beddy-bye...yawn...I am not a late-bird..way past my bedtime...Big hugs, sweetie, and continue to enjoy your weekend! Sharon this is a beautiful album. We do not have autumn colours like this here in Australia. Deciduous trees are few and far between at least where I live. There are a few inteh botanic gardens. Just the same as we do not have snow in winter. Both are subject I would enjoy taking photographs of. Never mind I enjoy looking at yours very much instead! hugs Susan

Dear Sharon! I just finished seeing your entire album. What can I say! I am totally speechless, letting the beauty of the wilderness, the open spaces, the magnificence of Nature sink into me. Having recently returned form a fairly extensive trip to Alska, I can well relate to your excellent photographs. I feel very enriched. Yes, I did go to interior Alaska, to Mt.McKinley, to Denali National Park, and as far north as Coldfoot, past the arctic circle. The beauty of Alska lies not just in its glaciers and lakes, but also in its wide open spaces, tundra and its untamed wilderness. If you find time, do take a look at the later part of my Alska album. Hi Sharon, just wanted to let you know that one of my artwork photos appeared on "Stashandpoohbear" If you look under their Dragon album my dragon with a light orb and with my name in the bottom corner of the photo appeared. I am trying the nice approach first and had asked them to tell webshot viewers that it is my artwork and direct viewers to my website to see more dragon photos.
