Album Description:
This walk is one I've wanted to do for a long time We had never been here before and this valley is so remote and only accessable on foot. The walk gently takes you to Upper Eskdale and England 's highest mountains

Hi Jill, Still getting into the mountain air I see and still getting some lovely pictures. nice to hear from you again, I have been cutting back quiet a lot as you may have noticed, but with the winter coming on hope to be a bit more active again, I have been having lots of problems with my PC, well it is not so much the PC but the Upgrade I put on for IE& it screwed everything up good and proper. Now I can not get MSN Messenger, so I do not get to talk to anybody. Hope you are keeping well, and getting about a lot, do take care and hugs Ken

Jill, I'm still not sure that I could join you this time... I'm not in a great shape recently and will have to practice more before I can join you next hikes... Thanks for visiting my Four Species Market album. I'm glad that you like the info in the captions, without it the pictures would be meaningless for most WS members. Have a wonderful day! Yair.

Hi Jill, I just watched this on slideshow and find it to be a very courageous walk and climb. I'd make it about 3 steps! You have some really gorgeous photos here, and I can not figure out how you walked on all those huge rocks and even the smaller ones. You also caught some spectacular scenery. I love your album. How are you getting along? Please let me know. Much love, Sharon

Great album Jill, yes I would have loved being there :o) I had a new (short) album about the Essex coast, it's there, but use "most recent" to find it :o) And I have a newer album on the White Cliffs of Dover ;o) (plug!) Ciao! Roberto

Jill, this is a lovely album and I am so pleased to go with you by your photos, we went up from Brotherilkeld to around Thostle Gath perhaps about 12 years ago and I found it delightful. Only problem is that it was too far for me to do what you did, but I know the area quite well through my family going up there. You go straight towards Bowfell for about a mile, and it is quite strange to see this side of Bowfell. A realy lovely area if you have the stamina to walk a long way. Thanks for your comments on mine, nice to be in touch again. I have been ill for some 5 months with them only recently finding by CT scan that I have a detached diaphragm, I am to have some surgery soon to put it right then I hope to be out and about again. So looking at your photos is very helpful. Love Mike.

Hi Jill, I was looking forward to seeing these photos as I know what a great day you had. It looks quite a challenge but well worth the effort. I shall do it one day. The scenery is so dramatic and remote. I'm glad you got your camera out for the starry saxifrage. Beautiful! The sundew is beautiful too. Take care. Pam x

We did a similar route in July and I think it was one of my favourite walks - enjoyed the walk again in your photos.

Jill, I admire your fortitude & resolution in tackling these remote areas. I am afraid this is much too strenuous for me, but it is nice to follow your footsteps in your photos. Many years ago I would have been tempted to try it & if I had, could possibly have bumped into Wainright! LOL. Many thanks for the comments on the Dragonflies. Norfolk does have a lot of water & therefor many D&D's, I hope to get some of those I have missed next year, getting too cold now. There are 18 species recorded on our local bog not all at once of course. Eric

Jill, I enjoyed very much another walk with you. It really wasn't an easy one and fortunately I could do it without moving from my chair... I don't think that I could do it in reality, looks too difficult for me. Thanks for sharing all these pictures with us. Thanks also for visiting my latest album of Iceland, I'm very pleased that you enjoyed your visit. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Yair.
